I just wanted to let you know that "Don't Tell Cougar" is my favorite fanfic of all time. I cannot count the amount of times I have read it, re-read it, gone back and cried over this fic. It's one of those stories that I can pick up when I feel like shite and just read and fall in love and get a good cry and in the end KNOW I'm going to be happy. I just...Thank you so much for writing it. Thank you.

I will reply to that, I swear, I’m just trying to find the words because I was just not expecting this and I’m flailing quite a lot because HOLY SHIT, thank you? I don’t know what to say. Thank you SO MUCH for reading my fanfics and for leaving me such heartfelt comments. It really means the world to me. Knowing that not only do people enjoy what I write, but they go back to it, again and again, I just… no words.

I’m so happy that my fic is able to be a safe place for you and that it can cheer you up when you feel bad. That’s just amazing <3

would you rather make a perfect roast turkey or a perfect cherry pie?

hmm, in terms of consumption, the turkey--I loooove roast fowl of all types--but in terms of skill development, cherry pie.  Pie crust is a new and foreign land to me, I’ve always just gotten it out of the box.  I made my first pie crust from scratch last month (for pumpkin pie), and it came out great, though, so it IS achievable!  But yeah, I’d have to develop some skills to make that happen.  (My turkeys are already damn good, though :D )

Would you rather go back to age 5 with everything you know now or know now everything your future self will learn?

i am trash cause this is from ten fucking months ago but honestly neither of these is ideal bc at age 5 i will be cognizant of the impending doom of the future and if I know everything in the future i will also be cognizant of impending doom so its really a no win situation

as a person who went through something very similar when I was at my lowest, it won't help if you ignore your friends. You might be feeling super low, but they may not realise the DEPTH of how you feel. don't be like me - cut everyone out because you 'are bothering them' or think that they don't care. All that happened there was I was alone and sadder and when I finally got myself on the right track, they were totally horrified to find out how bad it was.

also, try not to fall into the trap of not being aware of THEIR lives, issues and problems. perhaps they were having a bad day, or were just really unable to talk. I am NO GOOD TO ANYONE when tired. like, at all. it could be that!

The hardest part for me is, like you said, not falling into the trap of not being aware of what could be going on with them. It’s hard to see past the tip of my own nose when I’m like this, and the feeling of detachment I’m experiencing makes it that much harder. But I’m trying because I don’t want to push these important people away. I know that they’re what anchors me into the real reality, and not the one my brain has been creating.

I guess now it’s just a matter of finding the right combination of telling them how the perceived blow off made me feel, without being accusatory and dismissive of whatever they might have been dealing with.
