Michiru is an only child, raised by her mother in a more rural area of Japan. Her father was a zoologist who eventually went on to study beastmen with a group of higher ranking scientists. His intentions were innocent at first, studying mostly beastman behavior and psychology. But the longer he observed beastmen, the more corrupt he became, advocating for beastman oppression and even participating in torturing them "for science". Michiru's mom divorced him because she didn't want to be married to someone so corrupt. She makes a living for herself and Michiru by running her own bakery. The divorce happened when Michiru was around nine years old, and she doesn't remember a lot of the details.
Nazuna, on the other hand, is the seventh in a family of nine children. She was born albino, which gave her white hair and pinkish-red eyes. She was insecure of her albinism, so she dyed her hair red and wore contacts. Her family wasn't exactly poor, but they struggled with money sometimes. Her father is a manager for pop idols, but he stopped getting as much money due to the afformentioned idols getting into controversy. Her mother ran away a long time ago to be with someone else, and Nazuna hardly remembers her. She doesn't spend a lot of time with her siblings since they're normally off doing their own thing. She was inspired to become an idol after watching a performance when her father brought her to work, but she mostly wants to be famous for the attention and influence, along with being a beacon of hope for people. After she became a beastman, she stopped dying her hair, which is why it's white in her human form.
The blood transfusion that Michi and Nazuna got that turned them into beastmen was from Shiro. Since Shiro became a god by being exposed to the blood of a thousand beastmen, he is able to shapeshift into those other species but chooses not to. That's why they have such weird shapeshifting powers. If a human got blood from a normal beastman, they'd either turn into the species they got it from or it would be randomized based of appearance/personality.
Speaking of humans becoming beastmen, I can just imagine the flood of furries and therians trying to get their hands on beast blood so they can become an animal too. Just imagine Michiru and Nazuna become famous in mainland Japan (and later the entire world) for handling the Nirvasyl Syndrome incident. They get interviewed and just casually let it slip that they were humans who became beastmen via messed up blood transfusion. Boom, worldwide chaos. Some people immediately begin racing to the nearest beastman to beg on their hands and knees for a drop of blood. Others hate beastmen even more because "what if those beasts infect me with their disease and I become one of them!?!!!??" Families splitting up because one person wants to be a beastman and the others want them to stay human. Original beastmen hating the ex-humans because they oppressed them for being nonhuman and now being a beastman is suddenly cool.
And what about beastmen who want to be human like Nina? They'd probably be considered traitors by other beastmen. Some would just stay in their human form permanently and others would probably do some type of medication to make sure that they can never shapeshift into a beast again, like what Alan wanted to do but on a smaller scale.
And speaking of Alan Asshole Sylvasta (yes that's his canon middle name look it up /j) you can't convince me that his family tree isnt a wreath. Interspecies reproduction is normal among normal beastmen because hybrids don't exist and they stay in their human form most of the time anyway. But Alan implies that his family is made up of 100% purebred wolves. There has to be at least a bit of inbreeding somewhere in there. It would explain why his wolf form looks so damn weird with that flat ass face.
