1. Lauren
There were quite a few amazing shots this week, but Lauren edged past them all to claim the top spot! She looks about 8 feet tall (those legs never end!) and she balanced herself so effortlessly like she’s carrying out a pre-routine warm-up. Her face caught the light beautifully, her cheekbones are stunning, and I love how her determined eyes are both serene and fiery all at the same time. Lauren established herself as the one to beat with this performance!
2. Sophie
Sophie has one of the most dynamic photos of the week! I adore how she’s thrusting herself into the air like she’s in the middle of launching herself off the pommel horse, she has a ton of energy but total control over her body as well. It’s neat how her dreamy gaze shows none of the effort she gave with her body, and her bone structure is fabulous from this angle too. Sophie’s shot is definitely one of the highlights of this shoot for me!
3. Angel
Angel brought her A game this week! Her body is so athletic and her legs are simply outrageous, and the way she kicked one back just adds to how long and lithe she looks. It’s awesome how her and Louis Smith’s poses are playing off of each other as well, it’s a really cohesive image. There’s a bit of an edge behind her seductive gaze which works perfectly with the tiniest hint of a smile she’s giving. Once again I felt that Angel deserved more credit for her performance, this is another great photo!
4. Sarah
Sarah was one of the best at creating chemistry with Louis Smith! I love how she leaned back against her co-star, and her entire body is completely relaxed without being lazy. She elongated herself well and did a nice job of showcasing the whole outfit. Her beautiful face is so sultry and she showed dramatic improvement in terms of connecting with the camera. I was really happy to see Sarah up her game so quickly!
5. Emily
Emily’s face is spectacular in this photo! She’s really gorgeous straight on (also love the shade of lipstick they gave her) and her icily stoic stare is so badass. I like how she twisted her torso towards the camera and crossed one leg over the other to put focus on the shoe, but I get a slight sense of discomfort from her shoulder posture and the clenched hand on her thigh. Those flaws are minor though, Emily excelled overall!
6. Emma
Emma’s shot is so wrong it’s right. Losing her neck entirely is a huge issue and she tilted her head down too far, but that demonic stare still manages to reel me in; it’s like she’s furiously dismounting after screwing up a routine. I’m obsessed with the way she modeled the boots, and she sold the dress like a pro as well. The flaws from the shoulders up prevent me from placing Emma higher, but at least she delivered a memorable picture.
7. Laura
Laura’s pose isn’t the most exciting in the bunch but I have to admit that her choice to fully stand up on the pommel horse does set her shot apart. She worked the outfit and was able to remain fairly relaxed as well. I’m not as sold on her face though, her mouth is hanging open too much and it’s difficult to pinpoint what expression she was going for. Laura’s shot would’ve been up a spot or two with some tweaks.
8. Holly
Holly’s picture is basically the more successful version of what Naomi went for (the perspective of the shot helps too). Her neck/shoulder area is a bit stiff, but otherwise the pose is great. I love the subtle arch of her back, and she showed off the shoes and swimsuit well. Unfortunately her face is not as strong: her mouth is too clenched and the angle isn’t very favorable for her bone structure. It’s an improvement from Holly’s first shot at least.
