How to fold BOATPLANE
(Professional-looking BOATPLANE photo from Dez691's twitpic)
Hello everybody, I am here today to teach you how to fold a boatplane. I was going to make this post a few months ago but I forgot about it until now, and I don't know what else to do with my time, so I'm making this post. In any case, I think boatplane is a pretty interesting thing to know how to fold.
I learned it from a friend way back in third grade (or something) in the summer, and have never seen anyone else who knows how to fold one. It is kinda like a symbol of my childhood, except that sounds kinda cheesy. In any case I am going to teach you all about the wonders of boatplane. It looks kind of like some kind of plane but then it also kinda looks like a boat. It does not fly, nor does it boat, but it looks cool, so that counts for something.
One thing you must note is that boatplane is not really origami, as it does not start off with square paper. In fact it works better with standard 8.5x11 paper or variants thereof. So go get some paper, okay.
First, fold the paper in half as shown above.
Fold down a triangle thing on one of the sides
And another triangle thing on the same side. When you unfold it there should be an x-shaped crease.
Fold it like this, I'm sure you can figure out how to do this, so I do not have to explain. It is not too complicated to do this.
Now do the same on the other side and it should look like the above photo
Flip it over
Fold down the sides so that they meet in the center, as shown above
Fold the things so that they look like this
Flip it over
Fold down one of the triangle things on one side so that it looks like this
NOW CRAZY STUFF HAPPENS
Now it is a boatplane. Enjoy your boatplane. I would like to see more boatplanes in this world so please show me some boatplanes if you have tried to do this.
Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. You can unfold boatplane, cut it in half (remember back in step 1 when we folded the paper in half?) and now you can have TWO boatplanes. And you can combine them into some weird combo boatplane thing but I prefer two separate boatplanes.
Edit2: Boatplane can also be a gun or whatever this looks like
