Martin JRM Mars, a large, four-engined cargo transport flying boat, operated as a water bomber by Coulson Flying Tankers. 

It was originally designed for the U.S. Navy during World War II as a long-range patrol bomber and cargo aircraft. 

Only seven were built, and the remaining aircraft were later converted into water bombers for firefighting operations in British Columbia.

Aftermath of a Shin Meiwa US-2 flying boat crash, which happened on Apr 28 2015 off the coast of Cape Ashizuri, Japan.

All 19 passengers and crew survived, but the plane was written off.
