Sparring was supposed to be that one uncomplicated thing where Laurel could let go and fall back on something familiar and find release in the exertion of it. Then again ever since she’d felt this tug towards Bobbi nothing had been complication free regarding the impressive woman. Laurel had the worst track record when it came to relationships and Bobbi was one of those people that helped her feel grounded on this new earth. Acting on whatever impulse she’d had must have been a bad idea.
Laurel blocked and then parried, breathing through her mouth as they traded blows. “I’m not tired.” Laurel defended though that clearly wasn’t the reason Bobbi was giving her an out. “And I’d rather get the practice in with you than Agent May. She can be... intimidating.” Another poor cover of her emotions. Laurel took a step back, flushed and heartbeat still rapid. “Unless you’re done for the day?”
