Last photo taken of six year old Madyson Jamison, who along with her parents, Bobby and Sherilyn Jamison disappeared on October 8th, 2009 while looking to purchase forty acres of land in Red Oak, Oklahoma. This photo was recovered whenever police found one of her parents mobile phones in the cab of the truck that was found abandoned, a long with Madyson’s dog, which was malnourished due to lack of food and water over a number of days, wallets and IDs and $32,000 in cash. The family was known for carrying large sums of money around with them at all times.
Several theories then emerged about the disappearance of the family of three, including that they faked their own deaths, were in a witness protection program, were killed or they committed group suicide.
Another popular theory is that the parents were involved in drugs and drug dealing. Investigators cited the large amount of cash found in the Jamisons' truck, and the apparent strange behavior exhibited by Bobby and Sherilynn Jamison shortly before they went missing. Bobby and Sherilynn had reportedly told their pastor on separate occasions that they had seen spirits inside of their home. Sherilyn's mother, Connie Kokotan, has believed that the family were killed by members of a violent cult. She has also firmly denied that the Jamison’s were involved in drugs or witchcraft.
On November 16th, 2013, four years after the Jamison family mysteriously disappeared, skeletal remains of two adults and a child were found three miles away from where the family’s pickup truck was found abandoned. While the remains were presumed to be that of the Jamison family, it took eight months for medical examiners to confirm it was indeed the missing family. A cause of death was never determined, and the crime remains unsolved.
In the 2010 true crime series ‘Disappeared’ a close friend of Sherilyn claimed that she didn’t believe the photo above was taken by either of Madyson’s parents. She believed that someone she didn’t know took the photo with her mother’s cell phone, due to her positioning and the uncomfortable look on her face.
