"(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66", una composición de Bobby Troup que popularizó el Nat King Cole Trio en 1946. Fantástica, estilosa, versión original.
Troup escribió la canción mientras viajaba hacia California con su esposa Cynthia. En ese viaje, tomó la carretera US 66 y se inspiró para escribir la letra, que enumera diversas ciudades o puntos por los que pasa la Ruta 66, desde Chicago hasta Los Ángeles: St. Louis, Joplin, Oklahoma City, Amarillo, Gallup, Flagstaff, Kingman, Barstow, San Bernardino, entre otros lugares de los amplios y vastos Estados Unidos de América.
En 1961, Chess Records lanzó la magnífica versión del indiscutible rey del rock and roll, Chuck Berry, que sin duda fue la que inspiro la entusiasta y alborotadora toma 1964 de los Rolling Stones en su álbum de debut. Luego hubo numerosísimas versiones más, pero estas tres son las que me marcaron.
