headcanon: the real reason Cody stays with Bo-Katan in Solus is because she gave him a droid that can actually get the knots out of his shoulders

You don’t see a lot of droids represented in Mandalorian culture. Maybe she’s doing the job herself. ;)

Honestly, HONESTLY, I’m climbing the walls imagining what went down in Sundari immediately after Order 66. 

Firstly, a few hours beforehand, Bo-Katan is clearly left with some sort of stabilizing force in the form of a GAR garrison of ... let’s call it a battalion (~500 troops), though it looks like only the better half of a company turned out for the Ominous Maul Handover Ceremony. **ETA: Three Venators arrived on station in Mandalorian space ... we only see one leave. 

(christ, I love a parallel. and i love parallel lines of tenuous allies even more):

We don’t know what pulled out of Sundari after the Siege, but judging by what’s left at this particular dock (and the bio-dome has LOTS of docks), Bo-Katan has also been left with some GAR infrastructure in the form of a mobile comms unit and some GAR armor in the form of at least two LAAT/i’s, at least two ARC-170 starfighters, and at least one AT-TE. 

Sure, Bo-Katan didn’t want an occupying force, and Ahsoka had said Republic forces would depart once Maul was captured ... but there had to have been a couple of days for some left-seat, right-seat ops for Bo-K’s loyalist forces (disaffected Death Watch, Clan Kryze {whoever the hell they are}, Clan Wren, and loyal Sundarese/Royal Guards) to assume control of the battlespace from the majority Republic forces -- and these forces had clearly been augmented since the initial invasion: we see plain grunts along with 501st grunts, not just designated 332nd, taking part in the conflict. 

There are sooooo many ways this could play out, but I have no doubt the CO of the Republic garrison in Sundari goes straight to Bo-Katan when he gets word that Special Advisor Tano has evaded Order 66 and is only presumed KIA. 

The CO and Bo-Katan probably know each other somewhat; she probably learns of the “Jedi coup” entirely from him, since her primary Republic contact (General Kenobi) has gone cold. I don't think this CO would’ve tried to shake Bo-Katan down at first, and even if Bo-Katan wanted to be coy for Ahsoka's sake, she can't really afford to get in the CO's bad books, with a battalion of clone boots still on her soil. So she tells him what she knows ... which is: very little. 

But MAN! Imagine Bo-Katan putting her bucket on when she's informed of Order 66 and whispering to herself, "He's done it. Fett's gone and done it from beyond the grave."

ALSO! There's absolutely no, NO, NONE reason Marshal Commander Cody couldn’t be sent to assess the GAR reconstruction garrison in Sundari for the benefit of the Emperor (who probably knows this Siege has gone down, but feigns ignorance to demonstrate just how far the Jedi were overreaching their jurisdiction -- unauthorized military aid to a system historically hostile to the Republic? How dare!). 

Just imagine: CC-2224 is dispatched to assess Mandalore’s potential (materiel and manpower), but also to unpick how his own treacherous General could have come to approve military intervention in a neutral system. The 501st/332nd were part of the Third System army, after all; who better to send to intimately interrogate this self-styled Regent of Mandalore?

ARE YOU FEELING THE BOCODY??! Because I sure am! 

We’ve got a sizeable unit of clones ON MANDALORE who didn’t have anything to do with Order 66, who might bend any which way ...

I am one of those wretched creators for whom the tags often simply cease to function when I have anything worthwhile to post (and yes, I’ve tried toggling ‘hide from search results’ on and off again, along with every other trick in the book). 

I like to think I’m not a slut for notes, but man, it sucks to get next to no exposure because of some tumblr glitch.

The destroyer that brought the Commander hovered within the planet’s shield, lower than the ones leftover from the siege. Submit or be slowly slagged. 

Bo-Katan frowned up at it, then at him. “I remember when Palpatine didn’t give a mott’s shebs about this system. Why the sudden interest?” She fixed her stare above his visor’s nose, rather than search fruitlessly for his eyes. 

“The Emperor has some questions. Answer mine and I may answer yours.”

“I told Captain Amos everything I know.” She’d suspected it wouldn’t be enough.

“My orders are to interview the Regent of Mandalore. Congratulations, that’s you.”
