PARTY PARTY PARTY! BOCO NEEDS TO PARTY!
Lawn furniture and several folding tables borrowed from friends were set up in the park, with nearly two hundred bright balloons tied everywhere in clusters and streamers hung from tree branches in festive rainbows. The tables were covered with girly princess violet plastic tablecloths that had glittering sparkles embedded in the material.
One table had a pile of presents in a variety of shapes and colors of papers, a veritable rainbow! Each had a big bow and a tag with the name of one of his friends. Next to the pile was big bakery box, and a plate with a pile of berries and a big candle on top shaped like a number "1".
Children's board games, a chess board, books, bouncy balls and other toys, and his big tub of blocks were on display, ready to go. A plastic "pin the tail on the donkey" had been set up on a tree, and there was a pile on the other table of party hats and those party blowers that made a funny noise and curled and uncurled--the funny kind with tassels on the end! Next to that were a few party trays and bowls of snacks, and a covered big box from a sandwich shop, and a bag of cups next to a variety of (non-alcoholic) beverages.
He was prepared. He was ready.
He was totally calling dibs on that stripey hat.
Surprises all around!
It was midmorning and the little bird made his way down the residential road towards Mister Edgeworth's house. It had been a slow morning without even his regular customers looking to have a delivery made. Rather than get frustrated and bored waiting for work he hung his 'OUT TO LUNCH' sign and started back towards the house. Miles had mentioned that he'd gotten him a fresh bag of carrots and another of spinach, and the little bird didn't want it to go bad.
The gate surrounding the house was hardly an obsticle for the parkouring delivery boy--a fair running start, a leap, and he cleared it with ease. Humming a little tune to himself, he made his way around to the back patio and sat down on his rump, with his legs in front of him like a child. A wing was reaching into his saddlebag to pull out his special houseshoes so he could go inside when he saw him.
A man.
A shirtless man.
A shirtless man Boco had never seen before.
He blinked a few times as the data processed. ..a trespasser in Miles' house! A thief maybe? He was behind a bush where the man couldn't see him before he had even finished considering this information, the defensive reflexes his Aunt and Uncle trained into him still sharp.
Instead of his shoes he instead dug out his cellphone and texted his human friend with a pounding heart.
[TEXT] There is a man in your house what do i do [TEXT] He has no shirt on [TEXT] He has pointy hair and is walking around
Unseen, the bird peeked through the bush at the man. He could probably knock the man out if he was a bad guy. Sneak in through that window, shoes on to soften the sound of talons on stone, quick strike from behind...
Boco's Busy Christmastime!
The little chocobo had done a rather... well, let's be kind and say "amateurish" job wrapping. BUT the boxes were covered in festive paper and he had only gotten tape stuck to a feather like four times which wasn't bad for a first-time wrapper.
Now to drop them off at the appropriate houses and get back to his new home..
Trotting through the snow...
The bright yellow feathers stood out against the swirl of Christmas around them as Boco made his way through town, his basket firmly clamped in his beak as he made his way back to his business' base of operations. All of his seasonal presents were accounted for, but he needed to make them look pretty now. And with his art skill he had high standards to live up to....
*A large black wolf patterned with white came up behind Boco, giving a bark in welcome*
Gotta get away gotta get away gotta get away Wolves can’t parkour through the trees to the stop sign glide to the stop light and up to the top of this streetlamp!! THERE SAFE.
Once out of strike range he gasped for breath and dug in his little saddlebag for his cell phone to text for help. In his panic the little wings weren’t the most dexterous that they could be at the moment..
[The last wolf he encountered tried to eat him! It was even a dark one, so he’s thinking it came back for more.]
Guess who found the buckets of glitter?
One very proud, happy, and sparkling chocobo chick.

Mistletoe Misery
Having gotten the basics of Christmas from a friend, Boco did a little more research at the local library to make sure he did it right. Many of the stories he read mentioned something called mistletoe. The pictures showed that It was a plant with sometimes white berries, sometimes red berries, and green leaves.
He was nothing if not dedicated to doing this thing right, so off he trotted in his warm cape to the florist who he sometimes delivered for and traded some paper-monies for a ball of mistletoe, tied with a big red ribbon.
After carrying if home, careful not to shake it too much and ruin it, he managed to tape the ribbon to the roof of his shelter. This had the result of it being at direct eye-level with the small bird.
Great! This gave him the chance to look at it properly in the light of his battery-powered lantern. He examined the deep green leaves and white berries the florists carefully arranged. It looked very pretty! Almost like spinach rolled up into a ball.
It looked tasty!
He couldn't help it. He was chewing the vaguely bitter plant before he realized what was happening. It was definitely not entire like anything else he'd eaten before, but the berries gave a satisfying crunch. He ate around the edges of it, then decided he'd finish the snack with a carrot. After getting one from his food chest he sat down with a big storybook to enjoy the rest of his evening.
