i wish there had been a scene in rogue one after the “you’re no better than a stormtrooper” debacle where bodhi and cassian had a quiet moment alone together and bodhi said something softly like “look…. i know stormtroopers… she’s wrong, that was uncalled for, you’re… good.” and bodhi’s avoiding his eyes and cassian looks like he wants to reach out but he just nods and says thank you and the film moves on

ok but the rogue one team arriving at the rebellion’s base and bodhi has to take a moment when he first arrives because holy shit he really got out, he really made it, he’s doing the right thing and its So Much he’s overwhelmed and there is time for just A Moment for him to adjust

and rest of the team r sort of standing nearby cautiously in case they need to do something for him because this is A Big Moment for him and then a smile breaks out on bodhi’s face and he reaches out and grips at cassians hand and just says “thank you.”

and cassian doesnt smile but his eyes shine as he nods and says “welcome home.”

cassian yelling for ppl to back off so he can talk softly to bodhi on his own ??? bodhi slowly turning to look cassian in the eyes and nodding and grounding himself by repeating to himself he’s the pilot he’s got the message, gaze fixed on cassians face ????? their ????? canon ??? meeting ????
