I got a Body-chan and Body-kun for my birthday from @opensourceslut.

😂 Trying to find poses I liked was hard.

I’ve been wanting these since forever and a day and all I can say is that I’m glad I got them from China for 1/3 of the original price. 

I mean I knew they weren’t ideal, I watched lots and lots of reviews so the rather poor quality didn’t come as a surprise. They’re not terrible, but they’re very delicate, the plastic is so so fragile. Especially the female one; one arm is a little bit loose and it came out at some stage, it will probably happen again. The male one is a bit more sturdy, although when I tried to change the hands, I pretty much bent the little ‘mechanism’ so at some stage (soon) I’ll probably have to glue one hand permanently with super glue or something. Which is a shame because the hand parts that come with the models are actually kind of cool.

The range of motion isn’t terrific either, especially in the legs. And with the female one, you can’t even tilt the head backwards, eh.

Again, I didn’t expect high quality (which is why I didn’t buy them for the original price of $40 [on sale, wtf??]) but it would have been cool if they were less of a look-at-me-but-don’t-touch-me kinda models.

I guess they’re worth the £10 each or so that I paid for them, but probably not more. Anyway, I do expect to actually get some use out of them, hopefully.

How I do my poses for characters now-days, I find this a very usefully way to help me draw in the poses i want without looking disproportionate.

I use these guys A LOT as visual reference guides. Really handy for when I need to check anatomy! I’d post more if anyone were interested.
