LawLu Story Idea 20
Heart shambles cannon-verse. During a battle against a rival pirate group, Law is temporarily controlled by a devil fruit user and is forced to use his abilities to switch hearts with Luffy, with the goal of weakening the allied pirates. Even with their captains out of commission, the enemies are easily defeated, but now the crews are at a loss of what to do, with their captains in each other’s bodies and completely at a loss of how to control their new bodies and powers.
After much panicking (curtesy Ussop and Chopper) and discussion the pirates come to the conclusion that this situation can be fixed, but nothing can be done until Luffy is able to master the ope-ope-no-mi, specifically its ability to switch people’s “hearts”. And while Luffy is training with his devil fruit, Law must come to at least a basic understanding of the gomu-gomu-no-mi in order to not be completely useless in a fight. Thus the two pirate captains are in a situation where they literally have to walk in each other’s shoes, or in this case, body.
This situation allows Law and Luffy to discover formerly unknown aspects about each other, and their combined struggles help bring them even closer together. Perhaps too close. They both have the opportunity to thoroughly examine their ally’s body, which made it hard to ignore the attraction and interest which was already budding before the whole body incident took place. Kissing is a bit awkward at first, because they’re kissing their own bodies, but they get used to it. By the time Luffy figures out how to switch them back, they’re both so used to it, sometimes they body swap again just for fun. Luffy sometimes pranks one of the crews by pretending to be Law while in Law’s body just to see how long he can last before they find out.
