different anon, and feel free to ignore if this is in bad taste, but are big turtles monogamous?
Bog turtles are notoriously elusive but we can pretty safely assume based on general behavior that they are not monogamous- as that’s not a super common reproductive strat in the order testudines.
But if you count storing and reusing sperm as monogamy then there is definitely some representation among the turtles!

Attention everyone
Ive just been made aware of a v important trend: bog turtle endangerment. If you live on or near a bog (a swamp or pond w peat soil) and u see a cute-ass lil turtle makin their way downtown, FUCKING DONT TOUCH THEM! These babies are endangered already and their populations keep getting depleted by ppl taking them home as pets. Leave them and their eggs in the wild where they belong! And if for some reason you need to go stomping through a bog any time soon, watch out for these turtles! They are small and easy to miss! I don't have a pic bc im on mobile but pls boost so other people know!!!!
