Portrait of a Common Yellowthroat by Georgie Alexon Via Flickr: This bird tested our patience on a sunny morning. He spent most of his time on the side of the path facing into the sun. After I almost gave up he flew to the other side of the path. Then it took time for him to pop up to a blade of marsh grass that did not have other reeds in front of him. He was busy singing for a girlfriend the whole day. The Common Yellowthroat was one of the first bird species to be catalogued from the New World, when a specimen from Maryland was described by Linnaeus in 1766. Bokey is all of us’ favorite scrub nurse.

While she is worried about most of her family back home in China, she has not one second hesitated offering her help these past few days through the craziness that has taken over our hospital. She is the real deal, a true hero in this time of chaos. This is a shoutout to our Bokey because she deserves it.

Thank you nurses, doctors and everybody working at saving and protecting lives during this crazy period in time; we are thankful for you and salute and appreciate you.
