[News] otta released neue Single “sick inside”

Nachdem die die britisch-finnische Künstlerin otta kürzlich bereits ihre neue EP “Songbook“ für den 10.07. via [PIAS] Recordings/Bokkle angekündigt hatte, legt sie nun die neue Single "sick inside" vor.

Auf dieser besingt otta auf einem ambienten, sphärischen Pop-Instrumental mit melancholischer Stimme ihre tiefen, schmerzenden Gefühle. "It can feel scary sharing such personal productions with someone“, berichtet die Künstlerin. „But I see it as a trust exercise, sometimes you need to just trust that their outlook and energy will bring out the details that can be so easily buried into a song over time, as your relationship with it inevitably evolves."

Für die "Songbook“-EP hat die Newcomerin ihre musikalische Palette nochmals erweitert, sodass das neue Material durch alle Netze bekannter Genres schlüpft und sich organisch durch die Elemente des Future-Pop und des britischen Jazz bewegt, angereichert mit Prisen aus RnB und Neo-Soul.

[News] Otta kündigt neue EP “Soundbook” an und teilt erste Single daraus

Nach der Veröffentlichung ihrer gefeierten Debüt-EP "After It All Blew Over" Anfang des Jahres, kehrt die britisch-finnische Künstlerin otta nun mit eindringlichen und verspielten Single "Never See" zurück. Zeitgleich kündigt die Süd-Londonerin die "Songbook"-EP für den 10.07. an (via [PIAS] Recordings und Bokkle), für die die Newcomerin ihre musikalische Palette nochmals erweitert hat.

Das neue Material schlüpft dabei durch alle Netze bekannter Genres und bewegt sich organisch durch die Elemente des Future-Pop und des britischen Jazz, angereichert mit Prisen aus RnB und Neo-Soul.

Die acht neuen Songs wurden von otta persönlich geschrieben, produziert und aufgenommen. Gelegentlich gab es von Bokkle-Label-Chef Kwes Unterstützung im Studio, der bereits mit Künstlern wie Loyle Carner, Mica Levi, Damon Albarn und Solange zusammengearbeitet hat.

Über den EP-Titel "Songbook" erzählt die junge Engländerin: "I wanted to make my own one, but with the reality of what that would sound like for me. I knew from the way my music had been sounding that the completed songs would feel the opposite to the feeling I got from the word."
