So I can’t help but to theorize if we’ll get future HM remakes under the story of seasons brand. The two most likely candidates are either Save the Homeland/Leaf Valley or Magical Melody.
Save the homeland would be nice because I would like to play a marriagable version without having to dish out money both for a new console AND the $60ish the game goes for right now. However vaguely understanding how un bokumono the game is compared to others I don’t know if it meshes too well atm.
Magical melody is honestly a lot better option. There’s already both Male and Female designs to play as and if I’m honest, I always liked the gameplay best in this one. While I admittedly feel like most of the switch line is lacking aesthetically and is a downgrade from the og games, this is one I think that would actually improve the design with a remake. There is so much good that could be done with a remake of this one if I’m honest. The nonbinary inclusion for the mc could translate well over to Jamie as well. I’d like to be able to marry them without the game ending and maybe even let them ask you what outfit they should wear for the ceremony. Personally I’d also just like a chance to marry this version’s Ellen.
The last possible option imo is ToT/Animal Parade. However the HOPE is that it would be more of a port than a remake. I think it can be agreed upon easily that the wii games have the most based art of the entire series and seeing it get watered down would make me cry. Seeing as Rune Factory 3 special also got announced, it isn’t out of the question of just doing a special port of the game (RF3 came out in 2009 while Animal Parade was 2008). Again, a game I’d go feral over getting a chance to date the girls in this one. Luna, Selena, Maya, THE WITCH!!! Dreams.
