Under Gilles' leadership, Bollinger has made great strides as a Grand Maison in recent years. During Gilles' tenure, he contributed in several key moments; Bollinger became first champagne maison to be awarded the "Haute Valeur Environnementale" (HVE) certification by the French government, the first to be certified for "sustainable viticulture in Champagne," the first to be certified for "sustainable viticulture in Champagne," and release of a great vintage, La Grande Année 2014. As a member of Champagne Bollinger family in Japan, again said, we would like to express our regret and sorrow for passing of Gilles.
