148. Bomberman ‘93 (PC Engine, PC, Wii Virtual Console, Wii U Virtual Console)
bomberman has been one of those series that I’ve always had a bit of an interest in, but haven’t really played. last year I went through bomberman hero, which was a really fun game! i felt more in my element due to the game being a platformer, and there was a lot to enjoy about it. this time I decided I would try out bomberman 93, and see how I did with a proper bomberman title.
this game ended up being a pleasant surprise! the gameplay is relatively simple, but the additional power-ups you get help a lot, especially the ability to walk through walls. the levels weren’t really too hard for the most part aside from the final world and some of the boss fights, it wouldn’t really take long for a bunch of enemies to be present at once and require some more thought as to where to place bombs to get rid of them. the music was also pretty nice, nothing too stand out, but still sounded good.
overall I quite liked bomberman 93, and would say it’s probably a pretty good entry point to getting into bomberman’s usual style of gameplay.
Advert for 'Bomberman ‘93′ on the Turbo Duo.
