It’s been a couple of hours so I can talk about it, SDC5’s champion — ZYKO. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
he’s been my favorite since season 4 ( i still think about the zyko vs boris battle once in a while ) and i was so happy when he, rochka, bouboo and yibo interact. i was gutted when he had to leave and it doesn’t help that there were melons back then saying he did it because the show was rigged. no matter what his reasons were, it was a pleasant surprise that he came back this season. when hangeng hugged him as a welcome i was so soft.
overall, zyko has a different aura than he did last season. he is calmer. it’s like whatever it was last year had all been resolved and his mind is fully into the competition this year. it’s perfect timing. i don’t think any viewer, dancer or whatever would think he was undeserving. from battles to group performances and as a leader, if we were to add that all up — he is the clear winner. he brought so much to this show. whatever he presents is a piece of art and he is someone this show needs to promote dance to an audience who won’t tune in as usual.
my favorite performance from this season would have to be his collaboration with Siwen. her saying that it’s the only performance that she was happy and not nervous afterwards was such a big thing. it says so much about his character and that is what i like about the zyko of this season. All of them are good >> great dancers. They wouldn’t be joining if they weren’t. So as an audience, what would set them apart is their personality and sharing their talent. collaborating with other and making something more.
It was also a delight to watch him with Dykens! ✌🏼
This win should also silence those who say that it’s only the Chinese who get 1st place. lol. I hope the director’s plan for SDC to visit Paris will come true! Only big things to come for Zyko and all the participants this season 🙏🏼
