I’m honestly surprised by some facts about this:

👉 Surprisingly the commercialization of these books do not affect him economically, since he doesn’t receive royalties from these stories (which he created!).

👉 Disney didn’t bother to inform him this directly, but someone he knows who is part of Disney told him.

👉 The story that’s in the middle of the controversy is “The Empire-Builder from Calisota”, one of the most crucial chapters of Volume 1.

👉 Even when he was the creator of all this, sadly he’s not part of the conversations regarding his work, he’s not even consulted!

It’s not surprising Disney makes really questionable decisions like these, but, it’s really shameful how they treated Don Rosa and how Disney and third-party publishers are the only ones who are economically benefited from the sales of these books. :/

re: Lauren's instagram story about some of her hcs for Demeter!!!

the comment about her exploring during Macavity's fight with Munkustrap is probably one of my favorite Dem moments, because she's so set apart from the others who are doing the choreo that it's almost jarring. You can feel her panic and her worry, and it's such a great character choice on Lauren's part.

another character choice I find really interesting that Lauren mentioned is the fact that her version of Demeter only recently left Macavity. I think it adds something else to Demeter's character, she's trying to get back into the rhythm of being with her family and her tribe, and it explains why she goes on high alert literally every time there's a loud noise.

She also mentioned that there were a few others who were with Macavity, and while that definitely automatically makes me think Bombalurina, Mungojerrie, and Rumpleteazer, going off of how I saw everyone interact, I also kind of get "Plato, Alonzo, and Cassandra were with Demeter and Macavity and escaped with her" vibes!
