How many of you have lived in a big apartment building at some point? It's a different experience from renting a floor in a duplex or subletting a room in a house. A single building that's home to so many people. So many lives existing alongside each other.
In the Gaza Strip, each residential buildings has around 40 apartments. 40 individual homes in one building.
My friend Fadel told me that Israel bombed four of these buildings since yesterday. 160 homes destroyed, just like that. Gone.
The last 117 residential buildings in Gaza Strip have been notified by Israel that they will be bombed.
Look how many families will be forcibly displaced.
So many people being displaced all at once means that everything becomes more scarce and more expensive. The price of a tent, the cost of fuel to travel south, the rent for a small plot of land to place a tent on, the cost of food.
The people of Gaza need urgent support for the cost of displacement.
