Uskanin draws.  Faleri and Kamio, the two red ones, never got full, solid character models.  I think at some point I had actually dropped the idea that the inner ear should have color in it.  Well, I’ll figure it out later.  These two are Bonba’s oldest sister and brother.  Faleri was a rebellious princess who took advantage of their kingdom’s downfall to go fuck off in space.  Kamio stayed on Uskamoku and got their kingdom’s survivors citizenship in the neighboring kingdom by accepting a political marriage to a princess.  They’re both very ruthless schemers trying to save their people at everyone elses’ expense, but they also hate each others’ methods.  Kamio calls Faleri a war criminal and Faleri calls Kamio a concubine.  Bonba originally sides with Fal, gets caught during a raid on some merchant ship, then gets booted into Kamio’s custody in lieu of prison time.

Well anyways those are tertiary characters who mostly exist to fill out Bonba’s backstory.

The green one is Kumi and he’s angery.  Greens and reds hate each other so maybe that’s why?

Here’s some humanoids.  The dude with the one lizard arm is basically an archaeological relic of the ancient times and some day I’ll drudge his story/setting/characters from the dark depths but not today.

Okay!!!  Done!!!  This is the last card art for my Neonmob set.  And I’ve finished the descriptions, even!  But I’m going to sleep on it and read over them in the morning to make sure I’m satisfied with all the words.  You can see it all in the preview here.  Once I’m sure it’s perfect and I submit it I don’t know how long it’ll take to get approved (it varies) and when it does I may make some kind of money off this?  Probably not a lot.  I’ll upload the art to other places with the full card descriptions too.

And then that’ll be the end of the ‘extra projects’ I wanted to get done before working on Laserwing.  (These characters are in canon with Laserwing, btw.  This was the class Mistaire was in before she left her planet and ended up on Earth.)

I’m really pleased with these, I’m still learning how to paint backgrounds but I’m getting better.  And I like having these simultaneous shots of poor Bonba’s country getting dragoned.  The Dragums in question aren’t specific characters, just some rando mercenaries who show up to do a job.  So it’s fun for me that as distant shadows they’re a bit menacing but close up they’re rather goofy looking.

Kumi has the least characterization so far of the Uskanin so I need to figure him out more by sketching him.

Fortu joins the boys

There was a missing character from the old days and I’ve finally refurbished him.  He had literally no personality in his original form so it was like starting from scratch

I almost scrapped this lineart because honestly the anatomy is really bad.  I think his arms are different sizes?  And I really hadn’t considered the logistics of raising an arm that way with those shoulderhorns, which point INWARDS in a spectacular evolutionary bungle.  But then I didn’t scrap it, and now I get to live with it.
