Bone and copper

An unknown man got his axe arm badly injured in a battle. His humerus was found at excavations of Varnhem monastery, Sweden in 1928. A medieval surgeon managed to cover the injury to the man's arm bone with a piece of copper plate, pinning it in place with three rivets.  The man survived the procedure — it can be seen that new bone had formed afterwards.

I waaaaaas going to edit and post a silly, smutty Cas x Reader fic sometime this very early morning...

But, I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow/today. So, I need to be up at a decent hour tomorrow. I get my bandages and sutures out then, to that’s exciting. I will also see when I qualify to start physical therapy. Yay! 

And I’m also having some unusual pain, but hopefully that’s just part of the healing process. *crosses fingers*

The following steps are performed in open hip replacement surgery:
