"For this is only the beginning. The beginning of my war." Luke Roberts as Draka in 'Dampyr' (2022)
Someone on facebook pointed out that there's something that might appear like Zagor's axe in the last scene of Dampyr... so I went back (yes, I finally saw the movie! Took me eight months. Yay! Thanks Sky!) and
yeah, that looks awfully like Zagor's axe!
The same person also said that there might be Martin Mystère's laser pistol on the other altar, but, honestly, I can't see it. Anyway, it's not important. I sincerely don't know if we will ever get more movies since Bonelli did what they do best: auto-boycott themselves 😒
I mean, well done Bonelli! Well done indeed! You had a great movie and proceeded to destroy it with such an horrendous distribution even the authors spoke out against. Good job! 👏👏 'Cause the movie is great. It's well done. Despite being a relatively low budget movie the technical department is very good, from the locations to scenography and costumes, even the visual effects are not bad. It really didn't deserve this fate.
Omg! OMG! OMG!!! 🤩🤩
DCEU? Pffft! MCU? Tsk tsk...
Wait for the Bonelli Cinematic Universe blasting its way with Dampyr in October! 🤩
Dampyr is an italian production with a budget of over 15 million dollars based on the comic series "Dampyr" published by Sergio Bonelli Editore and tells the story of Harlan Draka: an half-vampire (a dhampir) who hunts down vampires and undeads. The story's set in the SFR Yugoslavia in 1992 during the Yugoslav Wars and adapts the first two issues of the series that came out in 2000.
Dampyr's been shot in Romania and entirely in english with an international cast, starring Wade Briggs as Harlan Draka and David Morrissey as the antagonist Gorka among others, and it's gonna be the first of a number of movies and tv shows based on Bonelli's legendary characters!
The movie's gonna premiere on 28th October during Lucca Comics and Games 2022. Still no news of an international release but I'm pretty sure there's gonna be one (of course there's gonna be, I don't think the producers have any expectations for a movie like this to do good in Italy 😒).
I'll most definetely be in cinema for Dampyr. Even though I don't read the comic (not because I don't like it, I've read some issues and it's great, it's just I'd need two lives to read everything! 😅), but everytime someone has the balls to do something different in Italy they must be supported at all costs!!! And by the trailer, it looks great!
If Bonelli put the same care in this movie they put in comics, than the Bonelli Cinematic Universe has a bright future ahead!! 😃
First international clip for DAMPYR released!
And it's recent news that Sony Pictures bought the international distribution rights, so it's gonna be a Sony movie ^^
“Dampyr,” an ambitious live-action movie adaptation of the eponymous cult fantasy franchise from Italy’s independent publisher Sergio Bonell
(I have to say: to define Bonelli as "Italy's Marvel" is downright OFFENSIVE to say the least. But it coming from an italian is just perfect italian style 😩🤦🏽♀️)
So it begins...
The Bonelli Entertainment's logo animation it's gonna introduce every audiovisual production by Bonelli and it's made by italian digital factory Sincromie.
When All The World's A Stage, and Dampyr Needs a Home to Play....
Just now Dampyr escaped me is that it didn't get a lot of publicity back when it first came out last year. I like the idea, and hopefully more can be done in the next film #vampires #moviereview
Available to stream on Google Play and Netflix. Few people know what a Dampir is, and they are technically a mortal with the extended life expectancy of a vampire! In Italy, Mauro Boselli and Maurizio Colombo created a Serbian version, and his name is Harlan Draka. This Dampyr needs to find his place in the world, though, and I’m hoping that what’s planned has enough legs to take off since past…
