hihihi!! bones here :)) oouu i was wondering if you’d be open to doing hcs for toby x gn!shapeshifter reader (same type of shapeshifter i requested last time) but readers limbs will just randomly fall off ?? and it’s not really gory or anything it’s just that the reader is literally made of bones :skull: and they’re fine it’s literally painless for them lol

Toby x shapeshifter!reader (when your limbs fall off)

Just when he thought he knew everything that could possibly happen, your arm falls off

You are both in Toby's bathroom, toby is brushing his teeth and you are cleaning your bones

When all of a sudden, toby hears a "pop!"

He looks over and sees your arm on the floor

His jaw opens wide and he almost drops his toothbrush

He almost starts to panic, but seeing you calmly reach down and pop your arm back into your shoulder's socket, the shock and worry changes into confusion

He finishes up brushing his teeth, and once you're done with your bones, he is checking your arm over making sure you aren't hurt

You smile and ruffle his hair "what are you doing?" You ask with a soft chuckle

He looks up at you with his brows furrowed "your arm fell off, are you ok?"

It hits you then, you never told him that your limbs fall off occasionally

"I'm ok, love. It happens from time to time, but it just pops back in, see?" You say, wiggling your arm around

"But it hurt, didn't it?" He asks once more, taking your arm back and checking it over again

This makes you giggle again

"No, it doesn't hurt. I don't have any nerves in my bones, silly"

His brows stop furrowing and he instead smiles "oh."

You kiss his forehead and fix his previously ruffled hair "don't worry so much about me, ok? I promise that you will be the first to know if something's up"

He nods "alright"

After this first interaction with your limbs falling off, it takes him a while to get used to it happening

But as he gets more used to it, occassionally he'll help you put yourself back together

Say you were stirring a drink, and your arm holding the spoon falls off

Toby will set his cup on the counter and pick your arm up, kissing it softly before popping it back into place and then kissing it again

i feel like alternate mc would be a nightmare to deal with, and they seem very toxic to know

but from a character standpoint i love them sm

Alternate MC is indeed quite toxic though they play under the veneer of "it will be good for you". They do genuinely want the best for Mandela MC but they don't really communicate it well (or at all, actually). They're really used to being vague and acting on their own given that they were ReM MC just shortly before arriving in Mandela.

thanks man i think they fixed themselves at some point but that's pending. i do have a few more questions about your idealogy here but i also have a lot of ap biology work that i should be doing right now and i feel like running those two trains of thought concurrently would give me a concussion so i will bid you well beloved bones anon
