"Steven bomb!" Steven drops from the rafters to land on jasper (mom swap)

Unlike say… a sapphire, Jasper couldn’t have seen what was about to happen coming. She had heard something above her, sure, but had assumed it was nothing to worry about. Only when Steven jumped down and landed on top of her did she realize that she’d been gotten.

“Heh…” Even she would admit it. He’d gotten her good.

“So, you finally managed to catch me off guard,” Jasper remarked. She reached up and picked him up from her head. “All that practice paid off, huh.”

Draco sighed, but couldn’t help but smile. “Maybe another time, it doesn’t bother me as much anymore.” That was a lie… but he hoped his son wouldn’t press

Scorpius smiled back and nodded. “You sure? It’d be no trouble.” He understands why his father might not have been able to make one in the past, but surely Draco’s gained enough happy memories with Scorpius. But he completely understands if his dad isn’t ready to try.

“I think it’s called winning,” Cisco said with a grin. He kissed Connor again. “But I think I make losing feel as good as winning,” he said with a teasing grin.

That was a bit of a pout on the androids face-but he was being kissed again...so he supposed he couldn’t really be upset. “Oh, do you now?” He asked, raising an eyebrow. “You did make me loose.”

“Yes.” They agreed instantly, not moving an inch from their love’s embrace. “You’re a fool and I love you so much.” A fool for leaving them, that is, even if he was saving the world. “We must make popcorn as well.”

“Hey, Steven! What’s up?” Suffice it to say, Carnelian hadn’t expected him to come seeking her out in particular. There were so many quartzes at the zoo, and most tended to go looking for the amethysts or jaspers. Then again, with her being the only carnelian, it made her pretty easy to find if someone needed her.

She’d been hanging out around what once was just the human enclosure when he’d found her. The other quartzes were helping Holly Blue, for once, with cleaning up. That meant she had some one on one time with Steven.

“You just going around asking all of us how we’ve been, or...?” It couldn’t have that he just wanted to talk to her in particular. She wasn’t that interesting, right?

Steven wasn’t wrong. Not only did Jasper have a right to be angry about what Pink had done, she also had a right to do whatever she wanted. The truth was that she was still angry. She was still hurt from learning the truth about the diamond she’d served. How did she even express that?

“I just don’t get it,” she said at length. “I dedicated my life to Pink. Then to avenging her. But it turns out she didn’t need avenging at all, and I tried to...” She had threatened to shatter him on that boat, she remembered. She’d tried to shatter Amethyst, too. All because of the lies she had been fed. A shudder ran down Jasper’s spine, then she shifted a bit.

“How can you be okay with me being here?” Jasper looked at Steven. “I could’ve killed you. All because she lied to all of us.”

“Hey, Amethyst! I just made a fresh pizza,” Steven said in a sing-song tone. Truth be told? He wanted to hang out with his big sister figure. If that meant bonding over pizza, then Steven would gladly share.

“You want a slice?” Steven asked. He motioned to the pizza in question. It was still pretty hot. That meant one thing. “The cheese is still all ooey and gooey. We should get a pretty nice cheese pull from it.” Now he waited.

“Do I think?” Greg beamed. “I know you could! You’d be a great chef, Steven!” Steven the chef. It had a nice ring to it, at least as far as Greg thought. They’d have to find a culinary school for Steven to go, but honestly? With the power of the internet, that wouldn’t be an issue. They would surely find something.

“Who knows? Maybe you’ll have your own restaurant someday too. One that... doesn’t have to get shut down because of a Fryman-Pizza feud,” he joked. Oh, Greg had heard about that. It would have been hard to miss that happening all that time ago. Without that, though, Steven would succeed if he ever did decide to have a restaurant where he did the cooking and things.

“Maybe you could even do tutorials on your TubeTube channel,” he suggested.
