McLaren plays out the way it plays out in this universe. People are pretty suspicious that there are motives beyond Daniel's driving fueling the decision (it both is and isn't). Daniel is ready to give up but Max encouraged him to sign with Red Bull when Christian comes knocking which also follows a similar timeline to hours ending with Daniel in the Red Bull in 2025 where he does win a world championship in 2027 and then retires a hero.
Max continues to twitch stream to some level of success. They have about 1000 subscribers. They do get into sim racing and do really well with it. They still makes friends with the Team Redline boys and is on a sim team with them but their best friends are still the Mod Squad.
Max and Daniel get married the year before Daniel wins the championship. They elope in Vegas after Daniel wins the GP. Max doesn't come to every race but they're at that one and Daniel's eyes meet Max's while he's up on the podium and thinks "I can't stand not to be married to them." So they elope at a chapel in Vegas with rings that cost $25 with Christian as their witness at like 3:00 am. Their families are so mad at them but they throw a big party the next off season. (The mod squad is there).
Daniel always thought he'd split his time in retirement between Perth and LA but instead, he buys a house in Belgium not far from Max's mom and they spend their winters in Perth and their summers in Belgium. They never have kids of their own but they spoil their niblings absolutely rotten. Michelle and Victoria are ready to kill them because their children are NOT learning the meaning of the word No.
