Roller Coaster Tycoon Classic: Bonus Group

Writing this after I’ve beaten all 7 parks in the bonus group, which took me about 4 months, since I was focused on other things. Tycoon park was beat with the gold group, I started that once I beat micro park. But the other 6 took me 4 months.

The six flags group is such a weird group of parks, because they’re basically sandbox parks, most of the rides even in 2002 are left out, leaving a huge amount of space to fill in some of these parks. I had an itch to scratch 2 years later which is why I decided to do these parks. Upsetting that they no longer have Alton towers, Heide park, and Blackpool. Would’ve loved diving into those parks but they’re not in classic.

I love six flags magic mountain basically because of this game, so I have a soft spot for refurbishing that entire park, and I had fun doing it to the others too, but I really did this project in the order of which I wanted to do, which is why holland was last. Greta adventure is easily the biggest park, with the most original rides of any of these parks. Panda world was a wash, they didn’t give you enough rides to even fill the space.

All in all I really wanted to test my coaster abilities, and really trying to make coasters as crisp and non messy as possible, even if they’re crammed into small spaces. I think my next project down the road would be to redo old parks that I feel like I’ve failed at. Until next time (maybe another 2 years?) these 7 parks have been great.

Roller Coaster Tycoon Classic: Tycoon Park

So this is it. This is the pinnacle of everything that I’ve worked for. I’ve spent 4 years playing this game, and about 10 years before this playing each game separately (RCT, Corkscrew Follies, Loopy Landscapes) so this is basically everything that I’ve worked for for about 15 years. I finally made it

The first very immediate problem with this park is that it has absolutely no infrastructure. Within 10 days the park is covered in litter, vomit, and hundreds of people needing the bathroom. There are no benches outside of coasters, there is not one trash can in the entire park, and there are only 10 bathrooms across the 4,225,430 square feet of this park.

So because this park has both no money and no time limit I have decided that my first action is going to be to close all of the rides so that people stop coming into the park and also so people will stop vomiting everywhere. I will take this time to put in trash cans and bathrooms and to hire more handymen and mechanics, at least double. Because of how long all of this takes, it is not the beginning of year 8, and the first rides are starting to reopen, with a park rating of 999, and 6,800 guests wandering around an empty park.

Well the park was closed for 10 years but I have opened my first rides (the transport rides) on March 1st, Year 11. It is now March 1st, year 22, and every ride has been opened.

This park has every single ride in the game, combined into a perfectly themed park with unique themes and worlds. It lags so much because it’s a mega park, and because there’s well over 10,000 guests, which barely crowds the park. This park could realistically hold 20,000 guests, but I couldn’t imagine the lag.

I’ve downloaded the extra parks including the six flags parks, so I’ve decided to make a Bonus Group beginning with Tycoon Park. Beautifully designed park, very fun to wander around and look at all the rides. I finished Tycoon Park with 103 rides including 47 coasters.
