He had crossed paths with Deadpool only once or twice before, but he really struggled to get used to the man’s blasé attitude towards large amounts of bodily harm. Sure, you had a pumped up healing factor, but that doesn’t make it any less shocking for the people around you.

"I hate to say it, but you're not wrong. Not that I think Homelander was God, but it took a small village to bring him down." Hughie's head tilted as he thought. "And the bond will last for a lifetime." Blue eyes narrowed. "Did you have to put it that way though?"

"Is it wrong to wish we could?" The world they lived in wasn't a kind place. Rogue had felt that she'd somehow managed to see even worse parts of it since associating herself with the Avengers. Maybe it was silly, but if things could just be a little more easy for once, maybe she would feel better about everything.

"Right. 'Course you were." Her reply came out a little sharper than she meant it, but it couldn't be helped. They had a job to do and an important one at that. There was no time to mess around. "Just make sure you're payin' attention, Wade. We gotta get this done right."

    "Mrrr?" He perked up while having his paws on a couple toys he grabbed from their missions. Did Daddy Deadpool have something for him?

    To his surprise, a big life-size Hulk plush from one of the shops in Shin-Shibuya!

    "MRRAHHH!!" He chirped, quickly running to launch himself onto the plush. His body sunk into the softness easily, happily purring to himself. Thank you papa!

He was basically someone's favourite little special guy, as much as it made people cry in terms of their wallet. Also the fact that Devil Dinosaur was one of his best friends who also happened to have a red and black accented get up. They did just cat matching cat maid outfits.

But that doesn't stop Jeff from trying to get Wade something nice. He rummages around in his pocket and hands Deadpool a... credit card? Sure, Jeff has a credit card.

Which was shark for the equivalent of 'let's go loser we're going shopping'.

Holy &^@# Wade brought him a present? Let alone a blanket?! Jeff loved blankets almost as much as food. Jeff runs right up to the merc, coming to a sliding halt eight at his feet, tail wagging so hard it threatens to propel him forward anyway.

"Bnnnket!" He exclaims. "Ahnkoo!"

Now, what exactly were they doing with the blanket? The shark fin scoop? Chimi-shark-a? Jeffitto? A blanket fort, perhaps? The sharp sushi roll? Jeff was perfectly healthy, so there was zero chance this was a ploy to get him to the vet.

Wade wouldn't betray him with a silly vet bait and switch. They both didn't like hospitals! (Jeff was pretty certain anyway.)

"Sometimes I wish I was wrong." Logan said with a growl. "Getting yourself into trouble just to try to get me to help you." Yet it kept working. Maybe it was the excitement of a fight, maybe there was a small very small part of him that cared. Whatever the reason, he was going along with this.
