These biscuit/donut hybrids called Bonuts from fried chicken joint Root & Bone a… These biscuit/donut hybrids known as Bonuts from fried hen joint Root & Bone are all the things! Coated with candy raspberry sugar and dipped in that scrumptious mascarpone cream.. I may eat these on a regular basis!
I’m usually not willing to wait in line for food, unless I’m at the State Fair or a food truck. But we heard from multiple people that we absolutely had to eat breakfast at Biscuit Love while in Nashville, so against my natural instincts, on a Saturday morning in January, I got in line.
It moved quickly. Soon, we were sitting down and ordering the East Nasty Sandwich, which Bon Appétit Magazine named the Best Sandwich of 2015 back in 2015. It’s a fried boneless chicken thigh, sausage gravy, aged cheddar on a buttermilk biscuit. Obviously, this is a good sandwich. We also got an order of Bonuts - fried biscuit dough topped with lemon mascarpone cheese, served over blueberry compote. They were obviously not bad.
If the line isn’t outrageously long, I’d get in it again.
