I've been struggling mentally for the past few weeks and at most have been doing loose sketches at most, but I've been taking that time to practice more experimental and dynamic posing. So to anyone else who REALLY likes fight scenes: this is for you LOL
BonViole is a ship I really like esp bc Bonmucho and Viole are both characters super super close to my heart. Their dynamic is one I think about a lot, and always have different scenes in mind for them. Gonna put a cut under this bc I have a LOT of thoughts about these two:
Bonmucho is quick, clever, and cunning, and a strategist by nature. But in the heat of the moment, once he gets the advantage, he is prone to excitement and getting overconfident. He'll get cocky with his fighting, and this can very easily become his own downfall.
Viole on the other hand, is outward about her confidence. She always appears to have the upper hand in her own mind, and can psyche her enemy out that way. But even despite her brazenness, she's much more perceptive than she lets on. She's always reading her opponent...and if her opponent is someone like Bonmucho, she's got a LOT to keep track of.
Especially since Bonmucho typically uses spring attacks to try to catch his enemies off guard as much as possible. Viole always has to be on her toes...
In the scene above, he's got her trapped right where he wants her. He was able to knock her down and pin her using her own spear, and despite her being able to grab onto it and force it back, she's still prone like this. But with the wild, almost crazed look of excitement in Bon's eyes, the look of a predator about to pounce - he's lost his sense of keen alertness. Rest assured, Viole's definitely not done for, and their skirmish is FAR from over >:)
In a shipping sense, these two are on equal footing in a number of ways even though they have drastically different personalities and ways of combat. It's through that equal footing that they gain a mutual respect of each other even in battle, and also gain a curiosity about their differences. Eventually, it's not all about fighting either - with someone as relaxed and outgoing as Viole, she has the strength and the willingness to keeping working down that hard shell Bonmucho keeps around himself.
Either way, it turns to something much more peaceful between them both...though playful sparring is NEVER off the table.
(For those of you who remember my time writing Kirby content, think of this in a similar sense to Sectonia x Haltmann, lol. I'm eternally weak for an outgoing, powerful and perceptive gal x a determined, calculating and occasionally impulsive dude who both got way more going on than what meets the eye.)
They're both trans, too. T4T ships my beloved 🏳️⚧️
