Book Review: Sacred Trees of Ireland by Christine Zucchelli

“A danger from which there is no escape is the penalty for felling the noble sacred tree” 

Another book I read while doing some research!  Christine Zucchelli has written a wonderful book about trees in Ireland and their connections to religion, witchcraft and mythology. She also delves into superstitions, fairies and holy wells. The book is well researched and referenced and it’s clear that Zucchelli has taken the time to listen to local people and their stories.

Book Review: Jacobite by Jaqueline Riding

This is a great book for people unfamiliar with the '45 rebellion and its background. Riding guides the reader through history using correspondence and newspaper articles, a touch that serves to make her account more vivid and entertaining than others.

A Sick Life - Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins

As a child of the 90s TLC was a big part of my life. Tionne T-Boz Watson was ⅓ of powerful girl group and in this book she talks about her childhood, TLC, her illness and her family. I am not sure what I was expecting when I picked up this book. Watkins gives us a chronological view of her life from being raised by her mother, to the formation of TLC, the struggle to understand her illness and now life as a mother.
