Is there someone who has experience with printing word docs in book fold at home? I’m trying to set up a document so that the text block on front and back sides of the page aligns. The paper I have is a lovely cream color, but it’s fairly thin, so I can make out the text on the other side and both the sentences and edges are misaligned and it bothers my OCD... :(
I’m printing on Brother HL-L2312D, an auto duplex laser printer. I’m printing a fic that’s going to be hand bound. Right now I have it set to normal margins, the font I’m using is Palatino Linotype, 12 pt, with a first line indent, spacing 8 pt and multiple line spacing (1.27 cm). I tried justified and left-aligned paragraphs; the misalignment is worse with justified text, but left-aligned doesn’t look great either.
I’d rather not take fics to be printed at a shop and would like to figure this out for any future use. I also noticed that when I have italic sentences, the line spacing seems to be different than with normal text. Should I be thinking about a different font, spacing, alignment, or are margins/gutter the key?
