Okay so I finally read the article and let me just say I’m sad that the new books are going to be VIP but it got me thinking how I wouldn’t mind or even be mad about it if they didn’t cancel the sequels in Jan 2021 because non vips would have had content too.

Think about it, we are currently getting a new book each month but now with VIP changing we only get Queen B 2. I find it strange how new books are going to be VIP and not their sequels but at the start of the year they canceled so many book sequels???? We could have had so many book sequels this year which are non vip content especially since they have been working on those books for a while before they decided to cancel them. And I think we have enough book sequels that can be release till the end (Queen B(September) It Lives Series(October) Ride or Die(November) just as examples) while the vips have the new books that they teased us that we were all going to play. And since they changed it to like 3 months after the initial release we can still get new content.

I’ve also read somewhere here on tumblr a while ago and double checked my emails and their blogs that books were pushed back obliviously from the pandemic. I searched and found it in Dec 2020, they stated they delayed several books into 2021 and that’s why their book releases are lighter.

Then in July 2021 they addressed again how the book releases are lighter but they promised the rest of 2021 and 2022 will be worth the wait.

Now with the new blog post I’m like well…I technically have no new content/books to read but one for the rest of 2021. Where are the other books that were pushed backed? Shouldn’t we get at least get two books at least a month the ‘scheduled’ 2021 book and the books from 2020 that was pushed back to 2021. And like if it’s all vip for new books the promise of it’s worth the wait in 2022 doesn’t matter because it will be delayed for regular players 3 months if everything goes to plan.

So I feel kinda robbed that the new books are vip but book sequels are not vip but they literally cancelled so many book sequels at the start of the year. So I’m salty how the non vip content got canceled so we get no new content what so ever because of sequel cancellations.

I'm so excited about this urban fantasy! Daughter From The Dark is coming out! I've been waiting for it for a while, ever since I was introduced to the previous work, Vita Nostra.

Marina and Sergey Dyachenko are back! I'm extra happy about Julia Meitov Hersey staying on as their translator. I attribute a lot of their success to her work.

The book is out Feb 11th.

The Booker Prize announced the longlisted books for the 2019 Booker Prize. The award was changed from “Man Booker” to “Booker” due to the Man Group withdrawing their sponsorship last year.

This year also marks the first year when one American novelist, Lucy Ellmann, is featured on the list since their inclusion in 2013. The longlist includes big names and also former winners of the prize: Salmon Rushdie and Magaret Atwood, for her highly anticipated sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale, The Testaments. The Testaments does not come out until September, but the judges felt the book was worthy enough to be placed on the longlist. The novel’s contents are a closely guarded secret but they were able to give a slither of a description: “terrifying and exhilarating”.
