One word for this: disgusting. What he did was disgusting, the fact the government agencies overseeing his "clinic" looked the other way - disgusting. That women and babies had to endure this -you guessed it, disgusting. #gosnell #book20 #book20of2017 #americasmostprolificserialkiller #books #bookblog #goodreads #bookstagram #bookblogger #booklover #readerlife #bookworm #bookaddict #bookish #bibliophile #ilovebooks #ilovereading #booknerd #readingisfun #readallthebooks #readinggoal #booklove #readabook #bookdragon #goodbook #igbook #igreads #nonfiction
I've always shied away from science fiction because I thought that it wouldn't be my cup of tea or I wouldn't be able to follow the stories or the science part of science fiction would keep me from enjoying it. Not the best reasons so I'm glad I didn't let that stop me from reading Orson Scott Card's "Ender's Game" because I could not put it down! Words that come to mind: vivid, visceral, violent. Detailed, but not too much. Beautiful, engaging characters. Lots of important moments that I'll probably go back and still try to figure out any deeper meanings. And really, the book explores similar ideas that other types of fiction do too: survival, belonging, peace, success, self-worth. All that fun stuff but then mixed with war games, mind games, space, saving the human race, genius children, technology, politics -- what. Too much. Too good. I want more. Sad I've been sleeping on entire genre but now I'm awake!! But it's late so I actually should shut up now and go to sleep 🤐 #unsolicitedminibookreviews #likeseriouslyunsolicited #25by25 #book20
Finally made it to #Book20! Probably won't make it to my #100Books target this year but still persevering!
