A Rokian's Curse is currently in a contest to find the winner of 300 fantasy titles. If you follow book contests, you may recognize the name for SPFBO, or Self-Published Fantasy Blog-Off!

Founded in 2015 by author, Mark Lawrence, SPFBO is an annual fantasy book contest where 300 books are entered to 30 judges. At the end of the year, there will be 10 finalists and 1 winner. Very exciting!

What's also exciting is I was interviewed by D.L. Gardner for my entrance in the SPFBO. Check it out below! I will be commenting on the contest as I learn more about A Rokian's Curse's standing.

The Readers Choice Awards 2023 - Introduction (on Wattpad)

Even though Capricorn is completed, I’m still submitting her for awards because why not? Capricorn has been accepted in the Romance category in the Readers Choice Awards 2023! 

The first round however, I need my readers, fans and stans to vote! The stories with the most votes makes their way to the judges for round 2. I hope you all help me out by voting! However, the voting isn’t here or on Wattpad, it’s on Discord, so hopefully if you have a discord, you can give me a shot by voting for me? JESS L. PARKER’S POETRY COLLECTION “STAR THINGS” HAS WON THE DYNAMO VERLAG BOOK PRIZE!

In consultation with two of Dynamo Verlag's previous authors, Josh Norman and Lucian Mattison, we have selected, from among our nine finalists, Jess L. Parker's Star Things. About this wonderful collection of poetry, Josh said: "With the varying intensity of a telescope or a microscope, Jess L. Parker zooms in and out on the negative spaces that exist between the esoteric, the mundane, and the emotional life that binds them. Each poem is "a new datum, to be loved/as intricately as Saturn’s rings are particular/up close, and held as tightly as they are." In the dusty moonscapes of "Star Things," every love, every scraped knee, every abandonment, every moon is at once familiar yet alien. Through Parker's lyrical transmutation of the ordinary into the sublime, we find ourselves at home among the stars."

Once again, we must extend our thanks for entrusting us with your work, and helping to make this competition a real pageant of exceptional writing. Many manuscripts reflected our quest for genius, eclecticism, and originality. Selecting finalists from among the contest submissions was quite difficult, and selecting a winner from among those finalists was even harder. We are looking forward to holding another book contest early next year. Until then, of course, and as always, we have open submissions. We will have further updates about our winner's book as we move closer to a date of publication.
