Hello, so I am writing a dissertation on Swamp Thing and as such am reading many Serious Academic Articles on comics and graphic novels, and this was a note in an introduction to an issue of the Journal of Graphic Novels and Comics. It made me chuckle. (hopefully it’s readable...) (the volume itself looked at “freaked and othered bodies in comics”)
