Update on Savvy. ❤️

I know a few people have been worrying about @savvyblunders (bookjunkiecat on AO3). There were some complications with her surgery, and she had to stay in hospital a lot longer than anticipated - 24 days in total. 

She’s had a very rough time of things, but she’s now out of hospital, recovering and being looked after by family. I heard from her last night, and she asked me to let you all know she’s safe. ❤️

Exerpt: Mycroft was the swank mob-boss; Greg was the low-rent muscle, he thought with dark humour, for some reason unable to stop picturing Mycroft as a morally compromised private detective, or elegantly sinister gangster from some old black and white movie with Art Deco sets and rapier-sharp dialogue. There would always be a disparity between them.

           Maybe sometimes, he thought, whimsy gripping him, the mob-boss and his hired thug locked themselves in the office and tore into one another. His breath came faster, picturing rumpling Mycroft's smooth perfection, imagining those well-kept hands sliding over his body. Would he be an experienced and confident lover? Taking his time, in no hurry to rush. Maybe he was reserved and starchy and desperate for someone rough like Greg to show him an entire new way of feeling…Or would his habitual calm get stripped from him by his passion, letting it take over as he consumed his partner?

           Hand trembling slightly, Greg took a sip from his drink—grimacing at the melted ice which had watered down his gin and tonic—and surreptitiously rolled the icy condensation on the outside of the glass against his cheek. He needed to cool down. He honestly had no ulterior motives in inviting Mycroft to spend time with him. Sure, once or twice that night at Mycroft's, he may possibly have thought he felt a kindle of desire between them...might even have had an inkling that Mycroft felt it too. And okay, so he’d even found himself flirting once or twice, as if unable to help himself. But his goal here was just to have someone with a similar experience as a gay man who was also looking for the odd night out as friends. He thought he might have found that, and he wasn't going to go bollocksing it up by allowing his thoughts to wander into dangerous and pointless territory in front of one of the most observant men in the world.

           Even if he was rather curious now as to what said man looked like in the midst of a shag.

  I'm not sure why I dream about the fire. It was bad, though not as bad as lots of other thing I've experienced or witnessed and yet for some reason the memory refuses to die. I keep having the same dream over and over. Choking and coughing and feeling my head swim from the drugs and the smoke. God, I was afraid I would die from the fumes before the fire got to me, which was my only comfort. I didn't want to die feeling that hot lick, unable to get away as it consumed me. And yet I was afraid that if the smoke killed me it would be too soon...because I knew, I KNEW that Sherlock would come. I knew he would save me. He'd done it, he'd finally made a miracle happen just two weeks before, and he'd come back from the dead. For me. So I knew that somehow, it wouldn't be too much for him to find me in that anonymous bonfire. He's Sherlock Holmes, able to bring about the impossible. 

And he came. He found me and he dragged me out of the fire with his bare hands and Christ, even as disoriented as I was, I could hear his barely controlled panic. He thought he was too late, he thought he'd lost me. Even if he didn't understand before why I was so angry that he'd lied to me and let me believe he was dead...I think in that moment it sank in, a cold, dense weight in his belly. Sherlock knew then what it was to feel he'd witnessed my death, was touching my corpse, had missed that elusive window of maybe and some day and never was, and I saw it...fuck me but I saw it flare in his eyes, the moment he realized what he would have lost. Sherlock Holmes loves me.

And I love him.
