Book Review: The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman

Rating: 4.5/5 stars

Synopsis: Nina Hill is a bookish introvert who mostly keeps to herself and likes it that way. But when her absentee father dies, she finds out that not only is she included in the will, she has a plethora of family to deal with as well. And on top of that, a member of a rival trivia group starts perusing her, so, needless to say, she’s getting to be pretty overwhelmed.

Review: I really liked this book, which was kind of a surprise, because contemporaries aren’t normally my speed. I think it was a read at the right time situation, but regardless, I highly recommend this book. The romance was adorable, and all the characters were fun and full of personality. I cried at points, I’ll admit. It’s not an all-time favorite, but it’s up there. All the plot lines were great. The Millie story line was perfect (that’s where I cried). Overall, this was a fantastic book. I definitely recommend it.

Book Review: The Opposite of Always by Justin A. Reynolds

Rating: 4/5 stars

Review: This was a great read. It flows so well I flew through it! Despite the heavy subject matter it was still a fun time reading it. I liked how fleshed out all of the characters were and how Jack grows throughout the book and learns from his mistakes. It was so interesting to see the differences in each of the loops, and how his decisions effect the world around him. It was an emotional yet enjoyable read and was a great break from some of the denser books I have been reading.

Book Review: Muse of Nightmares (Strange the Dreamer #2) by Laini Taylor

Rating: 4/5 stars

Review: This was a good conclusion to the events and circumstances introduced in the first book. It was interesting to see the characters react and work around the new challenges from the end of the first book. We are also introduced to some fascinating new characters who were so intriguing to read about. We meet more godspawn and get some more answers for questions raised from the first book. I liked learning more about the world, the Mesemarthium, where they came from and how they work, and more powers that they possess. The plot was also engaging and kept my attention. Watching these characters grow and change and push themselves was nice to see, especially with Thyron Nero. I really appreciated and liked his arc during this book. There was a lot of different things throughout the book that I liked and I think it came together quite nicely.
