I am a reader. I have always been a reader.

Whenever I buy and read books, I have this habit of smelling them first and categorizing what kind of scent they have.

There are times that I'd pause while reading and take in its scent, making me feel even more at home and calm.

I dunno if its just me but I think most bookworms would relate to this. So I dedicate this poem to all bookworms out there❤

Reader ・ Poem

I was never a profound reader, Indulged in fantasies and movies; And addiction that made me shiver, Till that day, when I’d encountered stories.

Months and years had passed, hours spent sitting, reading; A drug addict, at last, An unsocial butterfly, dreaming.

In a world of spice and colour, My back to the black and grey; I bit the apple of power, Soon taken, by the fey.

No matter what I'm told, I won’t willingly, go back; If necessary, my soul’ll be sold, In protection, I’ll fill whatever I lack.

akhirnya kau pergi dan aku akan menemukanmu di mana-mana. di udara dingin yang menyusup di bawah pintu atau di baris-baris puisi lama yang diterjemahkan dari bahasa-bahasa jauh. di sepasang mata gelandangan yang menyerupai jendela rumah berbulan-bulan tidak dibersihkan atau di balon warna-warni yang melepaskan diri dari tangan seorang bocah.

akhirnya kau pergi dan aku akan menemukanmu di jalan-jalan yang lengang atau bangku-bangku taman yang kosong. aku menemukanmu di salju yang menutupi kota seperti perpustakaan raksasa yang meleleh. aku menemukanmu di gerai-gerai kopi, udara, dan aroma makanan yang kurang atau terlalu matang.

aku menemukanmu berbaring di kamarku yang kosong saat aku pulang dengan kamera dan kepala berisi orang-orang murung yang tidak kukenal. kau sedang menyimak lagu yang selalu kau putar. buku cerita yang belum kelar kau baca telungkup bagai bayi tidur di dadamu. tidak sopan, katamu, mengerjakan hal lain sambil menyimak kesedihan dinyanyikan

akhirnya kau hilang. kau meninggalkan aku — dan kenangan kini satu-satunya masa depan yang tersisa.
