At closing time, Trisha puts Tina back on the register - she needs the practice! - and starts restocking immediately. It’s been an excellent day, though they didn’t sell any clothes or makeovers. The books, stationery, and personal grooming items are flying off the shelves.
"Excuse me, ma'am -" "Yes, sir? Is there something I can help you with before we close up?" "I just wanted to let you know to look in the next edition of the Bigg City Times business section. You'll like what you see!" (Ha! Called it! She saw this guy hanging out at Beech Appliances, and also at the General Store - he's a business reporter, for sure.)
"Hang on, I got it -" "Any day now." "Excuse me! I have to catch a bus back to Bigg City!" "I work slower when I'm yelled at, just so you know."
"Well, I can't wait around here any longer! I can get all this stuff cheaper in town anyway!"
"So don't you think it's time we hired somebody to help out? Maybe somebody who already knows how to work the register?" "It's true, a good review will only improve traffic, and it wouldn't do to disappoint anybody."

Trisha is focused on Tina enjoying her time before starting college, and Tina doesn't mind that. But she's also anxious to get a little more work experience under her belt.
And Widespot knows, Trisha can use her help. The new library has increased literary interest, but it's such a small branch it can't really fill the hunger for books that it sparks. The "ique" part of Booktique is a bit stagnant; but the "Book" part is thriving. "Woody won't let go of his copy, even though he's got no kids in the house at all, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to check."
Tina, if she does say so herself, is great at selling books to teen boys. This guy is suspiciously cool to be hanging around Widespot.
"I dunno, Tina. I can only take so much with me to college." "It's a book! There's always room for more books in college!"
She lights into inventory while Trisha is still ringing up customers. This place is going to be well-stocked before she leaves it to Tilda and Topher's tender mercies.
Tina and Trisha put in their time at Booktique while Nery mans the register.
I downloaded an owner control rock which makes owned businesses less frustrating to visit from other lots, and it means I don’t have to wholly revamp Booktique, but running businesses from the household will always be the best way to advance them in levels.
Olivia doesn't go straight home, but stops off at Booktique for a makeover. A girl who's made out with the hottest boy in school on a first date shouldn't have a little girl hairstyle!
Viola heads out to Booktique, but Ms. Traveller has a new stylist. (Which she keeps pulling off one job to put on another, never working herself. Maybe if she hires more people that will settle down? I probably need to look into business mods now that I’ve been playing them long enough that people are starting to have employees. Booktique is a pretty complicated business to begin with, though.)
She eventually manages to get herself looking more like the person she wants to be, though. Then it’s back home to assume teen responsibilities.
Leaving Trent home with the kids, Trisha and Tina go open Booktique. Tina wishes it were the kind of business that generated tips. Mom putting money into a college fund is hardly the same as earning money. And nobody wants Tina to cut their hair if Mom’s around to do it - or even if she’s not. Word has spread (Tina made sure it would!) among the teen population, and Tina considers catering to them an important part of her job.

Booktique is doing spectacularly well, even without Tina to help run it. The stylist chair isn't much frequented, anymore. Tina's plan to open her own beauty store when she graduates won't be competition at all.
Nery is doing great at the register, but hunching over it all day is bad for his back, so Trisha does inventory and restocking on her own. She can always get the twins in after school if she needs them, but so far she doesn't.
