No.19 old man's war by John scalzi What a fun, imaginative read. An absolute must for anyone into the scifi genre. The world building deft and plausible. I was recommended this book by @bokehnj and @minigeeksshop some years ago and spent a couple years hunting (happily) in my favourite used bookshops in Toronto looking for it until I found it this past February. So thanks guys, I owe you. No.10 nocturnes by kazuo ishiguro A short yet packed read. Five short stories exploring art, the pure pursuit of it vs. sustaining it as something you love doing but at the cost of kneeling to a commercial interpretation. All set amongst relationships that rise and fall like movements before they fade. No.8 a brief history of seven killings by Marlon James

It’s as if a song of fire and ice, top shottas and scarface all had a baby together. As good a post colonial talking back to the empire novel as I’ve ever read, brilliant, engrossing, chaotic.Marlon James’ ability to inhabit the voices of the characters is worth checking this out for alone. It’s spellbinding and I’m still kinda breathless from the ride.

Still can’t believe I found this in my local #littlefreelibrary. What a lucky find.
