Trans Rights Readathon 2025 - March 21st-31st

I learned about this last year and I'm happy it's happening again this year! let's read some books by trans & genderqueer authors together!

apart from reading you can participate by

donating to an organisation who push fot trans rights (especially small local groups!) or individual fundraisers to support a local trans/genderqueer person

amplifying trans & genderqueer voices by posting about which books by trans & genderqueer authors you read and leaving reviews (and positive comments on publisher's posts about releases)

buying your books by trans & genderqueer authors from queer indie bookshops or directly from the authors

so. shelby was (presumably) killed by a man she trusted, and is wearing clothes that aren’t here, all the while apo is the only surviving member of a military (adjacent) operation who she feels an unnecessary amount of guilt / responsibility for…

i think i’ve seen this film before. and i didn’t like the ending

i’m very interested in how the arena will affect relationships cus i think inevitably there will be two friends matched against each other at least once or twice. i hope it’s not apo and shelby but also i kind of do because it will be devastating

I'm reading a book about fonts, and two pioneers of the printing press in London were called William Caxton and Wynkyn de Worde. I was wondering why those names rang a bell and then -

William de Worde, head editor and founding partner of the Ankh-Morpork Times.

i've really missed reading to the point where i'm seriously shopping for an e-reader. i've heard good things about the boox palma and i have zero interest in a store specific model like kindle or nook so toss some rec's in the replies if you can pls n thx!

10/100 days of activity

thursday was a very cosy cuddly day with jackie and wilson in the reading nook and i loved it. I'm definitely gonna carve out more time for that again next week!

activities of the last few days:

reading in the nook

choir rehearsal & orga bits

groceries

going for a walk with friend L (we got sunshine!!)

literary colloquium on literature about sports, specifically gym type sports w/ flatmate L (I added 2 more books to my tbr lol)

planned activities today:

send some applications

mobility exercises

play video games?

maybe cinema?

it's once again time for a Trans Rights Readathon! this year it's march 17th-31st

The Trans Rights Readathon is an annual call to action to readers and book lovers in support of Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV) on March 31st. We are calling on the reader community to read and uplift books written by and/or featuring trans, nonbinary, 2Spirit, and gender-nonconforming authors and characters. (quote from their website where I also got the graphics as a download)

booklr sleepover, 8pm update!

first order of business was putting all my books back on my shelves after the foom switch. except for my poetry shelf I'm unhappy with how I organised them but in order to actually read it had to be a "done is better than perfect" approach. jackie was not helping, but so adorable

look at all those books!! we are so back!! warrior cats definitely did a lot of heavy lifting but I decided to move from cats making dumb decisions to hockey players making dumb decisions (bc wc kept rehashing "is evil hereditary" through all of the second series in the most annoying way possible). super excited to start with my physical tbr reads!
