I went with the idea that the two of them had already met before! Hope that’s alright!!!

Cities were never a safe haven for Hravart; never. He much preferred being just outside them, but on this occasion.

Well, he was kind of stuck in Booty Bay. The storm outside was terrible. No one was advised to leave. Everyone had come indoors. The priest had gotten so fearful that he’d gone and huddled in the back corner of a room.

Loa, he hated thunderstorms.

All it did was serve as a reminder of who he was running away from.

He sensed that someone was drawing closer, and he did his best to ignore them; after all, it wasn’t like there was anywhere else to go. The inn was packed with people, with draenei and tauren strategically positioning themselves in corners.

Someone sat on the bed near him, and Hravart pulled his legs closer to his chest.

“Rava?”

“Uh!” he jerked up his head, staring at the redhead. She’d lifted her bangs away from her eyes, which were pinched in worry. Hravart swallowed.

“Boombaya,” he muttered, rubbing at his face. Wait.

Was he–

“You’ve been crying?” she sounded quiet concerned and shuffled further along the low bed to be closer to him, “why?”

“I um,” he flinched at the flash of lightning that seeped into the room from the mostly filled doorway. The thunder was a quiet rumble, at least, “don’ like thundahstorms.”

“I be sure dere’s more ta it den dat,” Boombaya insisted, “wat be wrong?”

The priest held his silence, muttering incoherent phrases under his breath. Boombaya prodded at his thigh with her foot, and he bared his teeth at her in turn.

“You been strong fah too long,” her red lips turned down in a frown, “talk ta me.”

Hravart hugged himself tightly, “don’ wan’ to.”

The female huffed, “who be hurtin’ you dis badly hm? Ta be makin’ you dis way? Not wantin’ help from nobody.”

He was quiet. The next flash of lightning was accompanied by a loud crack of thunder, and Hravart couldn’t stop what had become a natural reaction. He clapped a hand over his mouth and raised his other arm as if to defend himself.

It wasn’t much, but it said a lot too Boombaya.

“… did somebody actually be hurtin’ you?” she asked, her voice deceptively soft. Hravart could hear the underlying anger in her voice, and he shook his head.

“No.”

“Don’ lie.”

“I don’ be lyin’,” he said quietly, “listen, he nevah hurt me, not on purpose.”

“Bu’ he still be hurtin’ you?”

“He was a shaman,” Hravart mumbled, staring at his feet, “enhancement. Didn’ know ‘is own strength. Whenevah he go’ angry, his lighnin’ magic got a lil’ outta’ hand. I–” he curled in on himself, breathing deeply. Loa it made his stomach twist in to endless knots. Worse, with his discomfort came the all too familiar chill of what else was haunting him.

“I don’ wanna’ talk ‘bout it, Boombaya. I don’.”

The female made a sound of frustration, but she settled for pulling Hravart’s head against her knees. He let her run her fingers through his hair. At the very least, the actions distracted him from the storm until it finally blew over.
