More details below the cut. And I mean a lot more. I got really into this and I’m sorry in advance.
Evangeline Meyers, aka Evan, is the girl next door. If you were her neighbor, you’d probably occasionally see her, but unless you sought her out, you’d never have a conversation. She’s quiet and keeps to herself, but once you get to know her, she’ll never leave your side. Evan grew up in a small but open family, with people coming in and out all hours of the night. Everyone in Willow Creek knew their house was the place to come if you needed help or even just someone to listen and while Evan loved that, it also meant her family tended to spend more time with other people than her. Instead of acting out like her older sister, Evan retreated into herself and her art. Painting and drawing kept her grounded and helped her work through her emotions. As soon as she was old enough, she moved to the city to try and make it as an artist. But that doesn’t just happen overnight, so in the meantime, she works as a kindergarten teacher.
Evan probably wouldn’t have signed up for Love Is Blind without some “encouragement” from her older sister, Rosaline, who just got married and desperately wants her sister to feel just as loved as she does. So if a tv show is the way to do it, why not? Rosa just wants people to see Evan the way she does: maybe a little introverted, but still funny and sweet and just as deserving of love as anyone else.
Evan doesn’t have much of a dating history. She came out to everyone when she was in university, so she hasn’t dated many girls. She’s never been great with flirting; she tends to get tongue-tied around people she likes so the other person usually has to take the first step. She dated a little bit in high school, but none of them were serious enough to get to the ‘meet the family’ point. At one point, she secretly dated her best friend Kat, but they quickly decided they were better off as friends. In university, she dated a girl but their schedules didn’t line up well and they hardly saw each other, so they ended it amicably. She also dated a guy named Silas for a year, but he broke her heart after cheating on her, so that wasn’t exactly #relationshipgoals.
Her preferences are little bit all over the place, sometimes. She tends to take personality into account over appearance, but with not always. Evan wants someone who’s loyal and wouldn’t hurt her again like Silas did, someone who’s funny and honest and would support her dreams of being an artist. They also have to be able to handle her family and their open-to-the-public policy, which is harder to find than one might think. Appearance-wise, she tends to lean more toward dark-haired guys or ‘bad boys’(which might explain why she liked Silas so much), even if she knows she’s more likely to get hurt. And with girls… well, anything goes. Girls are just so pretty. And overall, she loves tattoos. If you’ve got one, she might just immediately fall in love. She’s got some hidden behind her clothes, so it’ll be interesting to see whether anyone ever gets to see them.
And now, a pause to personally apologize for the information overload because I got seriously into this and there’s so much and I’m so so sorry. Anyway, you can continue onto some extra facts about Evan now!
Evan’s favorite paintings mean something to her. She loves painting or drawing her family whenever they all get together.
Once, when she was ten, she woke up to a girl she didn’t know going through the clothes her mother had designated to be given to charity. The girl was actually Kat and they ended up becoming best friends in the future, but that was the one time she stood up to her parents and said that they weren’t allowed to let people into her room when she isn’t awake and proceeded to force her dad to put a lock on her door. There a reason her privacy is now sacred to her, and this incident is it.
She used to have a box full of drawings of Silas and love notes from him, but whenever she applied for the show she burnt it as a symbolic ‘new beginning’.
Evan may be shy, but once she gets comfortable with someone, she’s really a goofball who loves making other people laugh.
She has two sisters: Rosaline, who’s two years older, and Maggie, who’s two years younger.
Maggie makes fun of her because Evan’s constantly forgetting how old her sisters are even though they’re literally two years apart on both ends, how hard is it to remember, jesus christ?
Evan’s a perfectionist when it comes to her artwork. One of the reasons she hasn’t had much luck in the art circuit is because she’s constantly finding a flaw, redoing it, then starting the process all over again. It drives Rosa mad.
She wants to have a small family. She knows how it feels to be forgotten(literally- her family once forgot her at the movie theater and didn’t realize until a neighbor asked where she was) and she doesn’t want her kids to ever feel the way she has. She has enough kids in her classes, she doesn’t need a ton at home. Three at the max, but preferably just two.
Along the same vein- Evan wants to adopt or have a surrogate over having biological kids. The idea of childbirth is horrifying and disgusting and she’d rather stay single forever than have her own children.
She’s in love with horror movies. Her favorite is probably The Blair Witch Project even though she almost pissed herself the first time she watched it.
And last but not least: even though she hasn’t had much luck in the love department, that didn’t stop her from making an entire playlist of just love songs to listen to when she’s feeling lonely. Does it make her feel better? No. Does she still listen to it and daydream of having someone to hold her? Yes.
Okay, I definitely got way too into this, especially the fun facts, but whatever. It was fun! If there’s anything else you’d like to know, just message me! And feel free to change anything if you want to!
