Back in school, they called me “the cute nerd.” [shrugs] I’m smart, yeah. I’ll let the ladies decide if I’m cute or not. I’m 29, originally from Newcrest but I’m in Evergreen Harbor now. It’s aight. I don’t care too much about recycling and going green, but I enjoy the benefits. My favorite color is blue. I like cats. My mama says I need to come on this show so I won’t end up being a crazy cat man at 30. Is that even a thing? Ain’t nothing wrong with a little furry love. Wait...that came out wrong. I love food. I don’t know how I’ve stayed so trim. I like everything. Steak, lobster, salad, El Selvadoradian, Sulanese, cakes, pies, pizza, cookies...

I want to be on this show because everyone needs to know me. I’m gonna be famous one day. Gotta start somewhere, huh? I’m gonna have my own cooking shows, 5-star restaurants in every major city, and culinary schools named after me! So, yeah, I’m just gonna have fun, make some friends—maybe some enemies—and meet some ladies. Who knows...maybe I’ll find love along the way. I’m definitely not opposed to that; I’m always thinking about my future. Winning that money would definitely help my cause!

Family life? Hmmm... I’m a mama’s boy through and through. My pops...we don’t talk about him. My baby sister is my number 1 fan. Heh, she has disapproved of all my ex-girlfriends except one. While I appreciate her protection, she doesn’t have to live with these ladies. She says that one got away, but we both agreed that it was time to end it. Sometimes people just want different things, you know? As far as what I like...well, what I don’t like is clingy, loud, nasty, controlling women. Outside of that, I don’t discriminate. Fat, skinny, tall, short...I’ll take what I can get.

So, there. That’s my story. I hope to speak to you all from the island next time.

Sydney Brooks for @colourfullsims‘ Love Island

For too long, Sydney has been stuck in a state of passiveness. Having been divorced for 3 years, he hasn’t dedicated himself to his dating life. It’s time for that to change. Though he wishes to get love out of this challenge, he is not opposed to having some fun.

About Sydney

His friends and family call him Syd. He is a 33-year-old bisexual man who’s had very little experience with dating. He didn’t have a very active love life, save a few disastrous dates, until he met Fernanda.  He is a wildlife photographer. His work takes him all over the world, but his favourite places to go are the African Savannah and Granite Falls. Though he photographs all kinds of animals, he loves Elephants above all. He considers them noble and kind creatures of majestic beauty. He’s taken so many pictures of them, they could fill an entire book. His mother, Zawadi, is from Kenya, but she moved to Oasis Springs for work. There she met Sydney’s father, Griffin, and they fell in love. Though he spent most of his time as a child in OS, they had a second home in Nairobi, and they shared their time between them. Both his parents have now retired and live in Sulani. After working all their lives, now it’s time to relax, they would say. Though he has resting bitch face syndrome, he is a teddy bear. Outgoing and funny are the words that best describe him. But he is also hot-headed, which means he deflects with humour until he can no longer hold his anger. And then it’s fireworks, of the dangerous kind. Once you made his shit-list, you’re done.

Fun Facts

He speaks a few of the official Kenyan languages, including his mother’s native tongue, Swahili.

His ex-wife Fernanda is his best friend and they still live together. They are just roommates though. They have not had any romantic interaction since the divorce (though they still find each other extremely attractive).

When they were still married, they often took trips together for work. They would go camping together, and those were some of his most precious romantic memories. He hopes to find a partner he can do that with.

It’s tradition for them to go to San Myshuno’s Pride together every year. They hope next time they go, each of them will have a partner.

His favourite hobby is Kayaking in Granite Falls.

He has a record player and a record collection he is quite proud of. He owns every Queen album ever recorded.

His clothing style is very wild. From turtlenecks to t-shirt, from black to multi-coloured clothing, he will wear anything, as long as he looks good in it. He isn’t afraid to more feminine clothing (though he’d never wear high heels. He tried, and it only left him with one question: how do they do it?). Eyeliner is a must.

I’ll be the first to admit it, I went off. With each new character I make, I get more dedicated and go overboard. Oh well, I enjoy it. Also, if I ever do a challenge entry without moodboards, you have permission to worry, because something will be wrong.

BTW, I modeled him after a faceclaim, but I suck at it. Still, I left the model on the pinterest board because that’s the vibe I was going for. And he’s attractive, lol

Camryn Broussard for @colourfullsims Love Island

Background: Camryn is the youngest of 4 and takes after her mom as the self-proclaimed princess of the family. If she needs or wants anything her dad and brothers will drop anything and everything to come help her out. Her mother on the other hand won’t hesitate to call her out on her shit (more likely because she’s got to remind her daughter who’s really in charge here lol). Despite this, she’s quite independent and isn’t going to wait around for someone to do something for her, especially if she knows she could do it 100x better on her own. Camryn’s first love has always been ballet. One of her most fond childhood memories was going to see the Nutcracker with her grandma. She fell in love with the music, the story, and the magic of the stage and the dancers. She got home and immediately begged her mom to let her take ballet classes to which her mom obviously gave in to her daughter’s adorable little face; the rest is history.

Personality: Outgoing when she needs to be but prefers to keep to herself if given the option. She can come off intense but is really a gentle soul.

Sexuality: She’s still not 100% sure what label fits her best; men tend to leave her feeling unfulfilled emotionally but at the same time she often finds her relationships with women lack the excitement and tension she craves. Bisexual is what she currently identifies as.

Relationships: Camryn’s had flings and relationships here and there before but she’s never actually been in a serious relationship. She often finds something “missing” from her partners, but can never quite put a finger on it. As it stands she’s barely holding on to the hope that there’s someone out there that will make her feel sparks both emotionally and physically. Otherwise, she’s very close to her family. The Broussards get together every Saturday for “Sunday Dinner”. (Two of her brothers are in college so Sundays are a no go atm). 

Intentions: Going in, she’s there for the cash and maybe some a** (she hopes to use the prize as a down payment on a space for her own ballet studio) but is open to the idea of finding real love on the show. However, she doesn’t exactly have her hopes up. It is reality TV after all.

A quiet guy. A kind companion. A sensitive soul who cares only for his art and his family. These are all things that describe Kengo Iyamoto, the artist, the man of his word.

Just kidding. He’s actually kiiind of an asshole.

Kengo Iyamoto is a 27-year old photojournalist living in San Myshuno. Throughout high school, he was definitely a bit geeky, and wasn’t, strictly speaking, cool. Now, there’s two ways this could have gone: either those dorky years would instill in him a sense of humility and self-awareness that would carry into his adult life, OR he would fall in love with how “awesome” not being a geek was, and have learned no valuable lesson in the process.

Guess which route Ken took?

Ken is a veritable fuckboy, but the worst kind. Some radiate that energy just by the way they look and act, but Ken has mastered the art of appearing the exact opposite way in pursuit of the same exact goal: sex. In other words, Ken will try his damn hardest to woo you, and you won’t even notice. In fact, he’d be quick to point out the debauchery of other -- less covert -- men.

Recognizing the Signs of Being Seduced by Kengo Iyamoto

He will make frequent references to his job, and will attempt to appear “deep” and soulful by talking about how photojournalism has the ability to “tell the untold story” (whatever the fuck that’s supposed to mean)

He will act shy or timid, which hardly reflects his actual disposition. He is very confident and thinks rather highly of himself.

He will show up ten minutes late to the first date, extremely apologetic, because his dog “escaped his apartment”. His dog is blind.

If and when you find yourself back at his apartment, he will sheepishly draw attention to the carefully-calculated mess inside, including family photo albums, handwritten letters, photographs, and dog toys.

Kengo is a fuckboy who wants you to think he’s a softboy.

As sociopathic as this might come across, it’s not totally disingenuous, as he generally is a pretty pretentious person. He desperately wants to appear as a misunderstood starving artist, who started out begging on the streets of San Myshuno and ended up as a full-time photojournalist at Epoch Magazine. In reality, he had a fairly normal upper-middle class upbringing, and landed his job because his aunt is an editor there. He’s pretty vain, and appearances are important to him.

Despite this, he really is quite talented, and good at what he does. He has an insane work ethic and dedication to his job. Assuming he’s not trying to get in your pants, and you can look past the occasional artistic self-aggrandizing, he's a great conversationalist and just wants to have a good time. He’s as cool as a cucumber, and possesses a natural, likable energy that draws people to him (maybe the whole softboy act isn’t even necessary). He enjoys partying, and does care a lot for his family and close friends. He’s particularly close with his dad, a doctor in Twinbrook, and his best friends and roommates Sawyer & Hiram. Sawyer, oddly enough, is a woman, and he’s decent enough to respect their friendship as is (although she generally disapproves of his exploits).

 Hikaru Togami || 28 || Pansexual || Waiter || for @colourfullsims​ Love Island!

Hikaru has lived alone in San Myshuno for over a decade. After graduating high school, he went straight to work despite the fact that his teachers encouraged him to go to university after he scored well on all of his exams. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to go; Hikaru couldn’t afford to pay for further schooling, especially after he was disowned by his parents at age seventeen when they caught him with a guy. He found a job in a basic restaurant that hardly paid him enough to pay all the bills, but it was the only thing he was able to find without any recommendations. Because a lot of his income relies on tips, Hikaru has an extra hard time thanks to his resting bitch face. He’s someone with a very rough exterior.

At the moment, he has no relationship with his parents seeing as he hasn’t spoken to them in a decade. Losing touch with them really hurt him and is still a sore spot for him to this day. He doesn’t talk about his parents at all, not even with the people he closest to.

Not long ago, Hikaru Togami got a call from an adoption agency. It turned out he had a three-year-old son he never knew about. Kaname. Apparently, Kaname was left on the steps of a firehouse, looking terrified and clutching a stuffed bunny in one hand and a note in the other. The note was from his mother who was too tired and sick to continue on. She was going to die. The note instructed for Kaname to be put in an orphanage, but after a DNA test was done on him, they found his father—Hikaru—and let him know that he has a son and he can take him if he wants to. Otherwise he will go into the foster system.

Hikaru was utterly dumbstruck to hear that he had a son, especially since he didn’t know his son’s mother very well, but he couldn’t let him be put into foster care. He wanted to have a happy family and he wanted to teach his son to love everyone no matter what. So Kaname came to live with his father, something that took a lot of getting used to for the both of them.

But eventually Kaname became the most important thing in Hikaru’s life. He will do anything for that little boy.

Hikaru has a hard time caring for Kaname because of his lack of money. He spends every extra cent he earns on his son’s clothes, food, and toys, leaving not much left for himself. He wants more than anything to give Kaname a good life. He wants to be able to buy a house and send his son to a nice school where he can grow up to be a fine young man. So Hikaru is desperate to get his hands on a nice sum of money.

When he saw that Love Island had a big money prize, he knew he needed to apply right away, even if it meant having to leave Kaname for a while. He’d have his best friend and neighbor look after his son while he was gone. He has no intention of losing.

Hikaru does not believe in love. It’s not something he’s ever believed in. After he was rejected by his parents, the two people who were supposed to love him unconditionally, he knew that love was nothing other than an illusion.

Really is just in this for the money. Will someone be able to thaw his cold, dead heart?

Or will he stay true to his belief that love is an illusion?

I do have a lot of custom sliders in my game, but I don’t think I used any to make Hikaru. If I did by accident or out of habit, I doubt he’ll look different. The only presets I used on him are his ears and his jaw ^.^

ANGEL BELLISARIO (for @colourfullsims​​‘ Love Island)

TRAITS: Jealous, Outgoing, Child of the Ocean

OCCUPATION: Law Student

BACKSTORY: Angel Bellisario is an extremely rich, 26-year-old San My native currently hiding out living in Sulani. Well, Angel himself isn’t extremely rich -- it’s really his family. You see, Angel is the youngest member of the Bellisarios, co-partners of the widely renowned Clancy & Bellisario Law Firm (yes, that law firm. You’ve probably seen the commercials). 

Everyone in Angel’s family is a lawyer: his parents are lawyers, his older brother Leo is a lawyer -- hell, his older sister Stefania double majored in German and international law just so she could land partner of her own firm in Windenburg. 

So, it’s no surprise that there’s a massive pressure for Angel to take up law, too. But Angel is much too chill to spend his life arguing in a court room. He’d rather laze around the beaches of Sulani, maybe even open up his own little seafood joint or bar one day.

Of course, that’s all nothing but a pipe dream. His family would never stand for a “beach bum” life, which is why Angel suffered through four years of college for his bachelor’s degree, and is doing everything he can to enjoy what’s left of his life before he has to fly to Britechester and start law school officially. And, apparently, one of those fun things is appearing on “Love Island.”

Honestly, though, Angel doesn’t really watch much reality TV. And if it wasn’t for the show being Angel’s ex-girlfriend’s favorite, he wouldn’t have had any idea what the heck a “Love Island” was. And if that ex-girlfriend hadn’t cheated on him with his best friend, well, he probably wouldn’t have impulsively applied to be on the show to spite her, either. But alas...

PERSONALITY: Very much go-with-the-flow. Chill. Friendly. He likes meeting people and having a good time. Although he’s “conventionally” attractive now, that wasn’t the case for a good chunk of his life. And when you’re the least cool of your siblings plus you’re stuck with a face full of pimples all throughout high school and partly through college, it takes a toll on your social skills  So, he still carries around a little bit of that awkwardness in conversations today. And because he knows what it feels like to be the least cool in the room, he always tries to make sure no one else feels that way if he’s there.

INTENTIONS/GAMEPLAY: Part of the reason Angel applied to Love Island was to spite his ex and force her to watch him be with other people on her favorite show. Which, hey, sounds really evil when put that way, but hey -- heartbreak makes you do crazy things. 

However, Angel still wants to have fun. He’s still a little hurt from the breakup with his ex and doesn’t trust easily, so he’s not exactly looking for his next “true love.” Plus, he already comes from money, so he doesn’t really need the cash prize, either. But he’s not opposed to walking away with one or the other. Or even both. 

SEXUALITY: Angel has only ever been with women (well, really, he’s only been with one woman). But if an unexpected connection happens with someone else, then it happens.

FUN FACTS:

He has a tattoo of a black cat on his arm

Angel still cries about his breakup with Noelli at night sometimes (but if you ever catch him doing it, he’ll say he’s only crying “because of the onions,” which are almost always nowhere to be found.)

Ava for the Love Island Challenge @colourfullsims

Ava began to love cooking during high school. Ava was initially a mess at cooking, so much so that she nearly set fire to her apartment. After this, her parents happily approved her request to start taking cooking lessons. Ava began to practice carefully even at home and inevitably to make progress. At the end of high school, Ava had attended several coocking courses both during the year and during the summer: from the nouvelle cuicine to the fusion cuisine. Even though she had become a good cook, Ava decided to perfect her cooking skills by enrolling at the University of Britechester to study  culinary arts and to become a chef. After university, she decided, without much hope, to participate in a cooking talent show where the winner would receive 100,000 Simoleons. Ava managed to reach the final and win the talent show, this is winning the prize that made it possible for her to open her first restaurant in San Myshuno.

-Ava has always been used to being the center of attention both because the quarrels with her brother certainly did not go unnoticed and because she had always attracted the attention of people, certainly the contrast between her green eyes and her complexion it did not go unnoticed but all this was highlighted by the creative and colorful way in which she dressed. Ava had initially blurred his creativity on himself, but when she started following the various courses she had also started to pour it into the recipes he invented and in the way he decorated his dishes. She loves being complimented by people for her looks but even more for her cooking. She is very good at recognizing if a compliment is fake, be careful!

-Ava has now developed a rather superfine palate, eating poor food puts her in a bad mood.

-Her delicious dishes are always accompanied by equally delicious wines, if Ava deems it a dish of some poor person, rest assured that a good wine will send her bad mood away!

• Ava has always been on good terms with parents, while with her twin Darius she has often had a rather conflicting relationship. Their parents used to praise or scold them always together and rarely reserve this attention only to one of them. For this reason the twins did nothing but criticize themselves for every little thing, in the hope that the parents would notice that one of them was for example better or less guilty than the other. At school the two even if they attended different classes, they were famous for their quarrels / scenes at school, their bickering had become the favorite entertainment of the other students.  

• It can be said that Ava had her first serious story during the university, she had known him during a party of a friend, the two had immediately become in tune for their passions in common, in fact he was also studying culinary arts to become a chef. The two then began dating and after a year and a half they decided to live together, a pity that from that moment things went precipitous, the quarrels began because nobody liked what the other was cooking, while Ava's kitchen was more sophisticated and modern that of her boyfriend was very traditional and refined. Their story ended definitively when Ava decided to cook a simpler dish to find a point of contrast with her boyfriend but he had still had to say at that point Ava had knocked over the dish on his head, he had quickly packed and was returned to her dormitory.

~ Now Ava has opened her second restaurant in Del Sol Valley so to follow both of her restaurants she steps back and forth between the two places. Only in summer she allows herself a bit of healthy relaxation and manages to be with her friends, but this summer Ava has other intentions ... to participate in Love Island! She is ready to have fun and relax on the beach and of course to impress the right person ....
