a fun fact I learned about 6fd is that on the SBS official website they list the hanja for Boon Yi's and Moo Hyul's names!

I was a little surprised bc I always assumed Boon Yi was a native Korean name like Ddang Sae (and maybe this isn't canon, since it only shows up in the PD notes and not the official character page?), but apparently it's written as 芬履, which is a meaningful name for her considering those characters can be interpreted as "fragrance" and "shoe", which are an obvious reference to those flower-patterned shoes that Bang Won buys for her at the marketplace as a symbol of his love

I could also see though how this might have a second meaning, because 履 could also mean "to step on," and considering one of the major themes of the show is how the poor and weak are often the ones most victimized by politics (and that Boon Yi is the character most representative of the common people), her name also reminds me a bit of the line from "Muiiya" about the wildflowers falling, the trampled fragrances (flowers) symbolizing the victims of corrupt policies and political violence

I thought Moo Hyul's name was pretty interesting too because it's written as 無恤, the literal translation of which is "no mercy"--maybe fitting at the time that his character was originally conceived for twdr since he's a seasoned, no-nonsense warrior at that point, but pretty ironic for 6fd!moo hyul whose character arc has largely to do with his internal struggle to reconcile the necessary brutality of revolution with his innate humanity and compassion
