uhhh but i might like, change how i write story posts? like, by actually writing prose for part of it rather than just dialogue and actions? mostly for poststory but also for ProjMutual if i get to it (this answer assumes i’ll even get to poststory this year lol). whbcx2 will stay the same though because consistency, and i might ease kaleidocy into it slowly

6. do you find yourself avoiding (be it accidental or on purpose) writing a certain antagonist type? (optional: tell us why you avoid certain antagonists if on purpose)

HMmmm...

i think unintentionally i avoid writing villains you would find in thrillers, like slasher type characters or serial killers. i dont think theres a real reason why, the trope just doesnt inherently speak to me

i think i INTENTIONALLY avoid writing villains who are gritty, muscular, hypermasculine, unattractive, wholly unsympathetic, etc bc i very purposely and consciously dont want to pander to men LOL. i very openly want to pander to women. i think villains written by most men are extremely boring and, when made in the context of fandoms, feel subtly vindictive against women (ie: “fangirls who like prettyboy villains”) and well, you know me, i can only tolerate very few non-fictional men LOL

18. what is your favourite character design for an antagonist from any media? (live action, movies, books, webcomics, cartoons/anime, etc) if you don’t have a specific character in mind, just list some design tropes you enjoy.

i do NOT have a definite answer in mind, i like so many things dkjlgfhgfh im not good at choosing favorites

however as far as tropes/archetypes go i do love me a good mad scientist/doctor. i used to view this archetype as fairly male (in terms of the genders of characters) because most attempts at female mad scientists are often very fetishistic + boring but dr wasabi cookie from cookie run gave me hope for well designed + well written female mad scientists. she is so hot and i am sapphic, for a cookie

19. what is your least favourite character design for an antagonist from any media? (live action, movies, books, webcomics, cartoons/anime, etc) if you don’t have a specific character in mind, just list some design tropes you don’t like.

same here, least favorites are difficult too but...

i would say one of my least favorite archetypes is "complete monster” villains who are neither understandable in SOME way NOR /interestingly/ amoral. the archetype im thinking of are very gritty, dark, edgy, typical to media that edgy goth men like (think “the crow”), this archetype feels like a thing of self-aggrandizement for male authors.

tl;dr boys, your edgy strongman in a black supervillain suit who does evil things (particularly things that make female readers/viewers uncomfortable) simply because he’s Just So Horrible is not deep or interesting
