9° giorno, questa sera sono un po' triste, domani si riparte, destinazione casa. Intanto oggi sono riuscita finalmente a vedere Tortoreto Alto, borgo d'altri tempi! (E poi Tortoreto Lido che vedrete nelle prossime foto e...qualche prova fotografica 🤭)

🇮🇹 DUE PASSI NELLA STORIA

🇬🇧 TWO STEPS INTO HISTORY

🇮🇹 É una mattinata nuvolosa quando mi ritrovo per le vie di Soncino, piccolo borgo nel Nord Italia, cercando di raggiungere la Rocca Sforzesca per scattare qualche fotografia.

L'origine del borgo é molto antico e corre indietro nel tempo di quasi nove secoli.

Nato come insediamento medievale é al momento considerato come uno dei "borghi piú belli d' Italia" e devo dire la veritá, lo merita tutto!

Sulla strada per la rocca mi imbatto nella Pieve di San Giacomo, di stile romanico e rimaneggiata nel corso dei secoli.

Due leoni di fronte all' ingresso ne proibiscono quasi l' accesso, incutono rispetto solo a vederli.

Per essere un' edificio del XI secolo, nonostante sia stato ristrutturato parecchie volte, appare molto ben conservato e infatti é al momento la Chiesa principale del borgo.

Dopo aver scattato qualche fotografia lascio la Chiesa alle mie spalle e proseguo nel cammino.

Non faccio in tempo a svoltare l' angolo e mi ritrovo di fronte a una struttura antica e inusuale.

Un campanile a sette lati svetta in una delle viette che portano alla Rocca.

Di chiaro stampo medievale scopro che risale al XII/XIII secolo e fa parte del complesso della stessa Chiesa che ho fotografato poco fà.

Probabilmente, secoli fá, il complesso sacro doveva essere adornato da cortili e altre strutture, ormai perse nel tempo.

Proseguo e finalmente ecco la Rocca Sforzesca.

Costruita nel XVI secolo é una fortezza militare ancora del tutto integra, voluta dalla famiglia Sforza per mostrare ed esibire il potere della Lombardia rinascimentale.

Maestosa, di pianta quadrangolare, vanta quattro torri angolari, mura merlate e fossato difensivo.

Il tutto in condizioni impeccabili tanto che sembra di essere ripiombati indietro nel tempo...

Scatto le mie foto e torno verso la mia auto, sicuro di rivisitare di nuovo questo borgo alla scoperta di nuove cose da vedere e da visitare perché quello che ho visto é solo una parte delle meraviglie che questo luogo offre a chi lo visita.

🇬🇧 It's a cloudy morning when I find myself in the streets of Soncino, a small village in Northern Italy, trying to reach the Rocca Sforzesca to take some photographs.

The origin of the village is very ancient and goes back almost nine centuries.

Born as a medieval settlement, it is currently considered one of the "most beautiful villages in Italy" and I must tell the truth, it deserves it all!

On the way to the fortress I come across the Parish Church of San Giacomo, in Romanesque style and remodeled over the centuries.

Two lions in front of the entrance almost prohibit access, they command respect just by seeing them.

For an 11th century building, despite having been renovated several times, it appears very well preserved and in fact is currently the main church of the village.

After taking some photographs I leave the Church behind me and continue on my way.

I don't have time to turn the corner and I find myself in front of an ancient and unusual structure.

A seven-sided bell tower stands in one of the streets leading to the Rocca.

Clearly medieval in style, I discover that it dates back to the 12th/13th century and is part of the complex of the same church that I photographed a little while ago.

Probably, centuries ago, the sacred complex must have been adorned with courtyards and other structures, now lost over time.

I continue and finally here is the Rocca Sforzesca.

Built in the 16th century, it is a military fortress still completely intact, commissioned by the Sforza family to show and exhibit the power of Renaissance Lombardy.

Majestic, with a quadrangular plan, it boasts four corner towers, crenellated walls and a defensive moat.

All in impeccable condition, so much so that it seems like we have fallen back in time...

I take my photos and go back to my car, sure to revisit this village again to discover new things to see and visit because what I saw is only part of the wonders that this place offers to those who visit it.
